Prior worker.It's a small family owned business with 2 owners, most of the furniture is imported from India with some occasional pieces coming from elsewhere in the world. Very few pieces are locally mad if any at all. The store does fit a "Low Country" vibe. Prices are moderate for the quality, but what can you expect from a locally owned business.The employees are always going to be willing to help you! They do not work on commission so the passion to be helpful is just their nature.Personal Experiences.I loved my job at Old Charleston Trading Company. I was promoted after 2 years from sales associate to store manager, and that's when the issues began. The owners could never be on the same page about what they would like for me to accomplish as a store manager, one would tell me I'm going above and beyond. The other would tell me I'm not doing enough, and when asked how to direct my crew or what he would like me to do, I would only be met with dissenting remarks on I should know what to do even though the primary functions of my job were completed. I felt very unappreciated. After I had left the business I recieved messages and screenshots from current and prior employees showing me how bad the aforementioned owner spoke of me while I was ill. It was heartbreaking to see he felt so little of me, knowing I had devoted 3 years of my life trying to do as they asked while completing my job as store manager. Every performance review I has was positive, and I always asked for direction and how they wanted the store to be set going forward to no avail.While my review may be biased, and a bit long, I cannot support businesses that treat people poorly. and I hope the other employees, current and future, are not subjected to the treatmentI endured.

We absolutely love this place.Wonderful selection of home decor and a very helpful and pleasant staff.We reside in Cane Bay in Summerville and look forward to our visits to this venue.Highlly recommend a visit and purchase at this location.

No returns all sales final not for me. Small on floor selection to see Ordering may take months Prices high and not competitive Nice sales people but not much stocked and if it does not fit or color wrong you own it

Like they say, interesting furniture for interesting people. New furniture made to look antique with distress paint and other finishes. The same with all the tabletop accessories. Lots of coastal style items.They handled upholstered and non upholstered furniture along with beds and wall hangings.And just like all nice new furniture the prices are a little on the higher side. But it looks like higher quality than you'll find in big box furniture discount stores. ?

FYI: they have a No refunds no exchanges all sales are final policy Appears to be a a locally owned business, but don't quote me on that. They offer beach decor and Charleston inspired aesthetic choices through the whole store. The staff was very friendly as I was asked by multiple staff if there was anything they could help me with anything. Unfortunately, I did feel that most things were a little overpriced for the quality presented. I wouldn't say that everything was overpriced but most were, in my opinion. I wouldn't say I wouldn't return only because they did have some unique things that may be hard to find elsewhere which may contribute to the higher prices. You should give it a walkthrough yourself before your right it off.

Folks who work there are very nice and helpful. We have bought several pieces and all are well made and a little different from typical furniture found in traditional furniture stores. Anyone furnishing their house should definitely stop by there and see what they have.

Always impressed with the service and selection at Old Charleston Trading Company, but this past time they went a step above! We purchased a dresser to match the nightstands we just purchased here and when it arrived, it was missing a the screws for the legs. Called in and Jim quickly ordered the parts and even offered to stop by to put them on for us! A+ like always here!

Very nice selection of unique furniture and reasonable prices makes this a must shop. The fact that everyone that works there are friendly, helpful, and doesn’t follow you around is just icing on the cake. We have purchased from them several times and even though we live almost an hour away they are still our first stop shop.
