First time camping here and I will never camp anywhere else! Absolutely love this place. It is EXACTLY how it is described. It is primitive. Bring your own toilet paper. Why would you expect someone to stock it for you.The gorgeous sites are located in the woods off of a spectacular, massive field. At night, if it's clear, you can see a billion stars. There is no light pollution. The creek is fun to watch birds, and other wildlife. The massive trees are covered in Spanish moss. So peaceful. Yes it's a dirt road, muddy if it rains and bumpy, just take it slow. It is well worth it! Yes there are cow patties..its a working farm. That is what makes this place so much fun and unique!! Please "leave no trace". It only takes a few minutes to pick up after yourself. It's too beautiful here, don't ruin it. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay!

We had a good stay, just had quite a bit of difficulty with the muddy, rutted roads to the campsite. Do not recommend for RVs 21 feet and over. There are farm animals free roaming the property, so watch where you walk. The sites are very close together, so don't expect privacy. Husband said the outhouse was just fineThere was cut firewood accessible for purchase which was very nice. We enjoyed sitting beside the creek and watching the tide come in.

Owner is super rude and very unprofessional person, she stopped responding due to refund. We were very frustrated because that day was raining and she wasn’t even trying to help us out. I have never experienced such a bad manners from a person. Sorry but I do not recommend that place at all!!

There is cow poop everywhere, including on the camping site. There is rubbish from previous guests throughout the forest. At night there was a group that was very loud and nothing was said because the campsite owner was nowhere to be seen. The toilet is a hole in the ground without toilet paper and there is no water. That for $30 is a total scam. I don't understand the previous responses.

I have used the KOAs here in Charleston and a few "camping" spots that are local owned, and handsdown Hanscombe Point is the BEST in camping. I absolutely love it here. Linda the owner is one of the sweetest people and is Johnny on the spot when you call. The location is beautiful and clean. Its quiet and very peaceful. I truly hope it can stay the way it is and people don't start coming and disrespecting what is offered. I'll never camp anywhere else in Charleston area again.

Small, easy going campground. Ten campsites- some are larger and more private than others. We stayed at one of the sites that was backed up against the marsh, which was pretty cool especially if you like birding. I felt safe staying here and nobody bothered us. A little disappointed that we didn’t get to see many farm animals. I wish there was a way that guests could (respectfully) explore the property more. Maybe add a walking trail? There are two toilets- one was kind of gross. No showers. Overall, not a bad place to stay if you like basic camping. Would probably stay here again, but not for more than a day or two.

We stayed one night on site 5, which overlooks a large field where the cows roam. Our toddler loved having the freedom to run around in the wide open spaces and run over dried-up cow patties with his toy tractor ?It was breezy so we didn't have any issues with “no-see-ums” or “sand gnats” but I would imagine on a still day they would be bad. The other camp sites in the woods are right by the marsh, which was pretty, but the bugs love it! Be sure to be self-contained as the only bathroom is an outhouse - but it was a nice outhouse! Overall we enjoyed our visit and will be back!

This is a great primitive campground with loads of potential for improvement. Beautiful fields and foliage. A friendly canine named Rosie Who loves to share snacks. $30 per day and check out is at noon
