On the more pricey side for camping but this place has everything you need. Very clean bathrooms and showers. The staff was friendly and check in was fast and easy. Our sight has electric, water, fire pit and picnic table. We were at site 36 which backs up to the small pond they have. The pond is kind of gross but we can ignore that haha. The site is super close to the rec center and bathrooms which was really convenient. Bring your own horseshoes if you wanna use their pit. Would stay here again but would love to come back when the water park is open as it closes kind of early in my opinion on August 4th for the season.

It's a great campground. You get the park to play in all day to then come back to the campground in walking distance. The problem is that I have been coming for years and every year the campground seems less private. Your not getting and privately but like at 10 out 100 sites.
Safety: Feels very safe

We camped in the middle of July and it was absolutely beautiful, there was tons for my son to do and all of the staff was super nice and helpful. The campgrounds were clean, the common areas are new and well maintained. If you are looking for a campground in this area I definitely recommend this one! There is a free splash pad, dog park trails galore and a water park also! We had a blast and went definitely be going back!

Expansive park with lots of things to do. We stayed in a nice pull through slip in our camper. They had a splash zone and climbing wall for children and plenty of paved walking and biking trails. There was a large dog park next to one of the many ponds throughout the park. The play areas are away from the camping spots to not disturb and our pull through spot felt private. Also they had some cool activities like an ice cream social and crabbing off their fishing dock.

James island is fantastic but the campground is one of the worst we've been to. Campsite is covered in poison ivy so we had to keep the kids inside the camper 24/7. Sites are very close together, no privacy whatsoever. Bathrooms were disgusting and looked like that were never checked for cleanliness, every toilet had floaters. And staff were very rude. I'd stay elsewhere and just do a day trip to James island!

Rooms: Campsites are mostly shaded, some more private than others.
Nearby activities: Water park, splash pad, playground, kayaks, beach is about a 20-30 minute drive depending on traffic.
Safety: Felt comfortable here.
Walkability: You can walk to all the activities in the park. Great.
Food & drinks: Snacks and small selection of groceries available for purchase in the camp store which is open 8a-8p

It's always a great trip! I was especially impressed with how clean the water park was - the water was really refreshing and just clean - no chlorine smell, it just felt fresh

This is a beautiful county park near Charleston, SC. We had pull thru site #56. It was well shaded, fhu's, fire pit, picnic table and Wi-Fi (so so quality).
There are organized activities (e.g. Ice Cream Social), a Water park with pool, lazy river, etc, a Splash Pad, playground, Outdoor Zone (climbing wall, disc golf), ponds, fishing, bike/walking trails, and a well-stocked camp store.
We have been to approximately 50 campgrounds, and this park is in the top 5 for bicycling!
There is a nice craft brewer, FAMS, about 3 miles away and Publix, Food LIon, and Wal Mart Super center 3 miles away too.
The bath houses and park are clean and well maintained. The park gate is secured at 8pm.
Strongly recommend a visit to this RV Park/Campground. However, you might have to make reservations a year in advance like we did.
We camped at James Island County Park in a Motorhome.

Beautiful place. I am not a fan of having to drive so much. Cabin was wonderful...just as described plenty of extras. Very quiet.

Very nice, shady, big sites. Small roads getting there. We used camp road after we got there. It’s easier access to foley rd.

I stayed in RV. A jeep had there tent on top. These should have separate area from RV. They are too close and no privacy. Kids noisy. No privacy to sit outside because they were right there in the open.
