Most enjoyable stay! Basic amenities that worked perfectly for me! I cannot say enough good things about this motel and the host, Susan, was wonderful as well!! Highly recommend!

Walkability: Perfect, U park and step out and 2 steps to your room door. Conveniently made for ease and accessibility.

My wife and I stayed here with our 1 yr old.
Susan was easy to communicate with, completely clear and straightforward about the rooms.
And so incredibly pleasant!
The rooms were very clean and well maintained.
Fantastic value for the price.
Very comfortable, safe and clean experience.

Sometimes in life you find yourself in a pickle - this was me a few nights back. I was pushing my 110lbs., broken down, bicycle, down route 17, just before nightfall - when I stumbled upon the Edisto Motel. (I'm currently riding my bicycle the US east coast) I was hot, road dirty, hungry, sore, and sun burned, a little lost, and a little scared. I needed a place to unpack and work on my bike. I was desperate. Susan Hickman, the owner/operator, of the Edisto Motel could see I was desperate. I remember she said to me, "if you don't mind waiting a little bit, I can get you in a room." ( I think they were getting ready to call it a day). Susan flew through that room in moments. One minute I was in a world of hurt - the next - AC, fresh sheets, towels, lights, action...Thank you Susan. You're a gem. you saved my life. The next morning, her husband Michael drove me to Walterboro, SC to pick up a rental car. (I needed to get my bike to a shop). In the bicycling world we call people like Susan and Michael "road angels/bike angels," - and they truly are. Thank you so much for your kindness and help, Susan and Michael. Both of you are gems, to me - and I give the Edisto Motel - five stars. .Mark

I’ve been by this motel many times on my way to Edisto. I always wanted to stay here and I’m glad I finally did. Susan is so sweet and the place is very cute. It’s convenient to the beach if you don’t mind a little drive. It was perfect for my last-minute weekend trip. I will definitely be back!

Needed a room because I was working late into the night and it was a three hour drive home. This was the cheapest motel I could find in the area so I gave it a try, expecting it to be a roach motel. I was completely shocked at how nice it actually is. It felt less like staying in a motel and more like staying at my great grandmother's house, and the lady who, I'm assuming, owns it is the picture of southern hospitality. I will 100% be staying here again the next time I work this area.

A very clean, well-managed motel. Rooms are beautifully kept, mid-century design. Tile and woodwork gorgeous. Family owned for decades, Susan is as friendly welcoming and helpful as any manager can be.

This place is a gem and the lady who runs it is such a sweetheart she sure works hard and it shows. J clean houses for a liveing and this place was spotless and even had what looked like brand new sheets. We will be comeing back here for now on. Best place I've stayed at in a very long time!!
