Over 400.00 dollars a night for a room with a tree obstructing the very limited view we had of the pool. You can't even see the ocean, no balcony, not even a window that can be opened! Hot water heater in the closet that sounds like a wrecking ball coming through the wall whenever anyone around us turned on hot cold water. Had to ask for a sheet change after 3 nights. Wish we would gave just kept the first sheets. The second set was so balled up that we put a towel on top of them! 4th day, no housekeeping at all! We had a few pool towels in our room because we didn't want to drip water in the elevator, when we went to check out they called and said we needed to bring 7 towels to the front desk or we would be charged over $100 dollars per towel!!! Where they got 7 towels from, I'll never know! There were just 4 of us in the room. The hot tub was filled to capacity because the "heated" pool was freezing. They said the heat was as high as it would go. To advertise a heated pool, it's gonna have to at least have the chill knocked off. Our grandaughter ended up with a terrible rash on her back We are praying it's just an allergy to something and not a bedbug outbreak!!! My advise is to take your money somewhere more affordable that's not a walk from the beach

Mold on ceiling and air conditioning vent. Reported to front desk. They had maintenance come and clean with bleach and when it cleaned up quickly they said there was no issue. When I pointed out that mold will clean up quickly at first but it remains in air they dismissed me. They told me there were no other room options for me even though I have lung and breathing issues.

Two star experience at 4 star prices. I travel very frequently for work, and have rarely been compelled to write a review. The experience for the cost here was so out of balance that I hope others can make informed choices. I stayed here 3 nights for a conference, and judging by photos shared by other reviewers it is possible I had the worst room in the entire resort. Peeling paint, stained carpets, thin doors between adjoining rooms (making it sound as if my neighbors were IN my room), and no way to get to my room without dragging my suitcase up a flight of stairs. When I arrived at my room the door wasn't even shut, so I had to check behind curtains and under beds to make sure there wasn't anyone hiding before I settled in. Not a great experience for a woman traveling alone. I would have turned around and complained then had it not been for a long travel day and the flight of stairs. The general feeling of the resort is a bit run down, but the beach is beautiful. Food options are limited and expensive, but good. It's possible there are some updated rooms in the main building - I strongly recommend asking before you check in.

This facility is over priced and presents itself in a manner that is deceptive.Restaurant choices were limited and booked nightly for the 6 days we stayed. There are NO ocean or water views from Sweetgrass or Boardwalk.Yet the opening ads emphasize oceanfront resort. Looks like only some of the rental units have view of the ocean.Staffing was less than adequate causing long lines all over.A pleasant place with nice people however one of the lower value venues I have experienced...I will not return.

If you're looking for a family place with kids over 8/9 beware! There are unfortunately local kids who must be good kids but are looking to sell drugs and otherwise take advantage of 9-16 year olds hanging out (as they should) on properly. Do NOT leave them alone or plan on any adult only dinners as we have learned from first hand experience it is not safe to do so. This property is poorly run and disappointing. Do no waste your money - and you'll waste a LOT of it. Your pew adolescent or adolescent children are not safe here without constant close supervision. Seriously disappointing given the cost of this place.

Chic and newly renovated, this Inn within Wild Dunes Resort feels like a modern beach retreat for the well-traveled guest. I loved the beautiful bar and lounge areas and organic/herbal scents from the spa permeated the elevator lobby making the whole place feel upscale. Loved:The comfy beds, pool and resort views, fabulous showers with strong water pressure for washing the sand away at the end of a beach day, large balcony, and freezing AC for when you have to get out of the heat. The Nespresso machine made for fabulous morning coffee in your room too. The gym is well equipped and offers nice palm views.Liked:The rooftop bar had decent cocktails and views. The rooms were somewhat quiet but at night you could still hear a lot of hallway noise. Pool area was pretty and fun for kids and families but tricky to snag a chair at peak hours. Could've gone better:Housekeeping only cleaned our room once in 3 days/nights. I found this odd, although maybe they're short staffed or trying to conserve water/energy? Valet was a disaster the entire time from the minute we arrived to the day we left. They seem slow, confused, and lacking organization/systems/leadership. Text for your car well in advance of when you're wanting to use it. I wish there were ceramic mugs in room for coffee rather than paper/disposable. Some rooms in the inn have a large stucco wall blocking their view from the balcony while sitting down (the wall is 4'5" high). Be sure to request a room that has a full balcony view - not behind this wall. (Room 321 for example is not optimal). The resort fees are hefty so be sure to ask about them before booking. All in all, this hotel is wonderful and I would definitely stay here again and plan on it. Wild Dunes is huge but this Inn puts you at the center of it all. Perfect for families with small children, friend groups, and romantic weekends! Thanks, Sweetgrass Inn, for a fun summer getaway. See you next time!

We came here to spend four nights attending a meeting. We were warmly greeted as soon as we drove up. We were able to leave our car outside while getting checked in. Then you have the option of using the free valet service or self parking. The self parking is tricky because there are many spots. But it is within a short walk from the hotel. We chose to self park each day and found a spot each time we needed one. Check in was super fast and easy. We were asked if we needed help with our luggage. They also gave us a packet with all the info we would need. The room is casual but classy. Loved the bathroom and shower. We did not have a tub but that didn't matter to us. The bed was very comfortable. We had a balcony with two chairs and a table. There is also a pull out sofa. There is a large pool area behind the resort. We saw many people ordering food from a walk up window and they also had a food truck. Fun area but definitely gets crowded. The hotel is definitely not beach front. You have to walk down a road to get to another pool area where you can be at the poolor go to the beach area. There was a bar here and you could order food. The lobby is lovely. There is a bar in the corner that stayed really busy. I'm the morning there was a coffee bar set up in the lobby for guests. The hotel did a great job with the three nights of meals we were served. All the employees were super friendly. We enjoyed our stay.
