Dr. Shong and his staff are definitely one of the most competent, professional, and caring vet team I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with! I’m so fortunate to have such stellar care so close and accessible. They’ve assisted me on multiple occasions, and I have the utmost confidence placing Daisy and Luke (wire fox terriers) in their care! When in NY, I have access to Cornell Vet School….the team at Sandy Cove is as comprehensive and competent….and at times more practical!

We have many pets 10 cats 3 dogs we’ve been to many vets in the area. A friend referred is to Dr Shong and we’re so happy she did. You can tell he really really loves animals has great deal of passion for what he does. He also does farm visits so he works with many different types of animals he has so much knowledge and talked us through everything while examining our cats. He didn’t upsell us on any supplements or unnecessary tests. He rely’s on his experience and knowledge “gut instinct” and will go with what he deems necessary without going right into big tests. He uses his gut instinct . His staff are also wonderful you can tell they love animals too very friendly.

Dr. Shong is an AMAZING doctor who goes above and beyond for all species of life! He is knowledgeable and reasonable with treatment; as if they were his own pets. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my fur babies.

Sadly I have a rabbit that has been in excruciating pain for the past week she is 14 years old, unable to use her legs well and isn’t eating or drinking. I asked if they offered euthanasia for rabbits and the vet responded with thick sarcasm trying to make me feel bad and embarrassed. Pathetic and unprofessional. Zero stars.

Dr Schong & staff were was absolutely amazing!! I was super impressed with the kindness shown by all members of this office and the time spent getting to know my pup. Will definitely be recommending to friends!

They have a caring staff that works well with the direct and to the point vet. There is no "beating around the bush". You get answers and solutions that work.

On vacation our dog started limping, Dr. Schong &his staff worked us in for a walkin visit early that morning.Very helpful & welcoming staff, Dr. Schong was very attentive, he treated us as though we had been long term patients!

My name is Jessica Nason. This Dr. ruined this beautiful standard poodle’s eyes. I have to constantly put drops in to keep them from not being irritated and red. I took Teddy here and Dr. Shong told me that he had some sort of eye issue that would be a problem down the line. His eyelashes were growing inward. Of course I took his advice and while he was being fixed he took care of the eye issue. A few stitches he had said - no big deal. When Teddy came out - it looked as if he’d had plastic surgery on both upper and lower lids. Nothing closed - his flesh was ripping a part on the sides of his eyes and he said he would fix it. I can’t believe I allowed this man to go in again. Happened a second time - open flesh wounds with stitches coming a part on both eyes. I called him and he accused me of not having the right healing environment at our loving home and that he would take him and put him in a sterile metal room away from us for a couple weeks and that would do the trick. I cried my eyes out and basically said that I was done with his services. He did nothing to rectify the situation or pay me back for the thousands of dollars that I spent. He’s incapable and comes up with made up issues to make money off of animal lovers. Thank goodness for Animal Eye Care Associates in Mount Pleasant. They used the right sutures, sent him home with us, monitored his healing and fixed what he had done to Teddy and said that my care and our home had nothing to do with the lack of healing - my thought is that he just probably wanted to get him away from us so he could mess with his eyes some more. Disgusted is an understatement. This took me years to get brave enough to write - but I’m over staying quiet about hurting innocent animals to make a buck. Do not go there under any circumstances. Deserves O stars.
