A wonderful little general store in the area that you can find convenience products in, as well as more gift shop oriented items. One time I got a bunch of gag gifts here as well! There's also a special sort of hot sauce I got here that you can't find anywhere else!

No WiFi!!?? Huh? Manager says “comes and goes because of rain”… why not just tell the truth? NO rain other days…..WiFi doesn’t work. So, if you stay here, leave business at home …using your “personal hotspot”?…sure…just remember zero speed… a few other glitches…but I could live with those…no WiFi = I won’t be back…..

So disappointed to find the store completely renovated.None of the original charm.I was told there were structural issues and they had to redo it Ok...I get that but it is now just another store. We always stay in South Beach..have been for 40 years. The first thing the kids always did was run to the General Store ...our Grands loved it too.Nothing special now..So sad!

Great place to get souvenirs, gifts or t-shirts. They also have snacks, drinks and grocery items for people staying in the area. All around friendly store.

The shop is decent and located in a very good place. I do feel though that there aren't enough items and things to buy.

Convenient to marina, Salty Dog and 5 minutes walk to the beach facing the Calibogue Sound. Room was VERY dated. WiFi did not work; complained to front desk but never fixed; they seemed indifferent to the situation. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Kind of pricey but it's a convenient store so you can go buy Necessities that you forgot. We did enjoy the gelato. The gentleman and lady in the store were very nice.

I see there is only 1 review here and it was a horrible one from 2016 so I felt the need to counter the negativity. The store was very nicely laid out and the prices weren't astronomical. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. They are following Covid guidelines at this time We purchased 2 hats so we could remember our time on Hilton Head.

We stayed at South Beach Inn again and totally regretted it. We have stayed at the Inn multiple times over the years and it was formerly pretty good with clean rooms, villas, and great views. However time has taken a regrettable toll on the condition of South Beach Inn. As a fellow Trip Advisor noted be prepared to lug your suitcases up a steep set of steps to your room. Be careful on the boardwalks and steps that surround South Beach Inn as the wood deck is greasy with a few loose nails. We never let go of any railings. The boardwalks have not been power washed in a decade. Once we arrived at our room, upon close inspection it was not cleaned with care (see photos). I only posted a few photos and the list of cleaning complaints with our room is too long (...missing slider door lock, filthy slider door jam, broken stair railing, broken deck chair, broken warped window that sucked in outside heated air). The lack of care of the property speaks for itself. The Inn's general condition was bad. The front desk staff was professional. We did not complain while on premises. We however noticed that our cleaning person was quite nervous and acted strangely so we were always present when she cleaned the room. During our stay we told locals and friends about the awful condition of South Beach Inn. We were short notice travelers so South Beach Inn was our only option. Bottom line - we will never stay at South Beach Inn ever again.

Ignore any negative reviews. Very spacious suite 207 with a cottage feel. The staff was friendly and helpful. If you book last minute, you will have to pay the $8 gate fee to Sea Pines. The suite was clean with a medium size refrigerator and small microwave. Beach access at marker 4(sound) and 11(ocean) a very short walk. Not pet friendly. We would recommend for couples. Tennis courts, pool, shopping, and restaurants on site. At the marina. We will book again.

We decided to stay at the South Beach Inn for a quick 10th Anniversary trip without our children. The location can't be beat for a short stay. You're right in the heart of South Beach, the beach is a short walk, and the pool is a nice size. We stayed in room 217, which has a lofted bedroom with two queen beds. It also has two full baths and a private balcony overlooking the marina. At first glance, the room is nice, but after spending a few days there, you notice that there are a lot of issues. Some of which included: -The walls are painted over wallpaper, which is peeling away in large areas. -There is water damage behind one bed and the wall board is very fragile. -The bathroom in the loft is in need of work (running toilet, extremely old shower head, mold/mildew growth). -We could hear rodents scratching behind the walls every night of our stay. For the amount you spend during peak season, you would be better off renting a condo that has a full kitchen and washer/dryer. I am not sure that I would rent a villa through the South Beach Inn either based on the condition of our room. SB Inn still has not responded to my email regarding these issues.
