UNBELIEVABLE!I wanted to write a review on how awful my experience was with one of their female reps at the airport. But I was shocked to learn that several other people have had the same terrible interactions with this particular rep as well. Funny thing is that there are reviews form 7 months ago and astonishingly Hertz hasn't bothered to rectify the situation.She is the absolute worst I've delt with in a long time, she needs to go find a job that doesn't involve communicating with another human being.I stopped by the day before and the rep stated that they had the vehicle but was unable to book it for me and asked me to come see the manager the following day.when I stopped by the next day, I was met with this miserable lady who clearly did not want to be there, she wouldn't even greet me. I asked for the vehicle and she said (without even looking) that she didn't have it.its OK if you sold out, but at least have the courtesy to have a tiny bit of communication skills and offer me an alternative.

i had a rental and was told they don't do deposit. than when I got there he said to me I have to charge your card $50 which is not true they charge who ever not everyone get charg. The management team is awful.

I just sent Hertz Customer Service this review. Seems like I am not the first one to encounter MacKenzie's brutal customer service and attitude at the Hilton Head location ... Hertz Customer Service:I have been renting cars from Hertz for 25 years for both business use and personal use. You have been my preferred rental company despite your premium pricing versus other rental companies. That being said, I will no longer rent from Hertz based on my recent experience.I reserved a SUV for my family of 6 in Hilton Head from April 6-9th. During my flight to Hilton Head (an hour before I arrived) I received a message from Mackenzie, the Hilton Head-based Hertz rental agent, letting me know that ‘unfortunately we have no cars available for you despite your reservation because we sent our cars to Augusta, GA for the Masters golf tournament’. When I spoke to Mackenzie to discuss this she was extremely rude and said there were no cars available and I would have to make other arrangements. I asked her what I was supposed to do with only 1 hour notice of this issue; she again said ’there was nothing Hertz could do to help me’. Unbelievable.With a family of six, looking forward to a weekend with my family in Hilton Head, we have been forced to get Uber rides this entire weekend due to Hertz’s decision to ignore my confirmed reservation. This will cost me more than $500 by the end of the weekend.

If I could post minus 0 I would! I am in the President's circle and have rented from Hertz for probably 30 years but believe me this is the last time!!! Picked up our car at Hilton Head airport (dealt with rude and unhelpful counter personnel), drove less than 4 miles to our time share and on the way the screen pops up with one tire at 24 psi. The next morning went out and it was down to 12psi. Came back, called the rental at the airport and was told it was our problem, we must have run over something....don't think so , perhaps THEY ran over something parking in the pick up lot!!! Spoke to a manager and got no where other than dealing with rude, unprofessional people. Tried to reach customer service and am convinced no human works there because all we kept getting were recordings. Finally reached someone at road side assistance and was on the phone with a very nice gentleman (ie. not rude) for OVER 2.5 HOURS only to be told again, basically it was our problem and we will be charged $85 for someone to come, then we will have to pay to fix or replace the tire. Been waiting almost 1.5 hours for that someone to come and fix. We are in our 70's and dealing with cancer and a recent knee replacement (not that that matters) but we certainly don't need to be dealing with with mess on day one of a long awaited vacation! I AM SURE HERTZ COULD CARE LESS BUT THIS WILL BE OUR LAST RENTAL FROM THEM I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE....BEWARE!!!!!!Donna & Bob

Terrible customer service and the manager was incompetent and absolutely clueless on how to rent a car… Surprised Hertz allows this to continue. I’m a Gold Member and rent vehicles worldwide, but never have I experienced this lack of knowledge.

These "Customer Service" Reps need Support !!!I'm so disappointed at the representative given the title Customer Service/Support. Dealing with Customer Relations is not always easy, yes we all know. If you are not happy dealing with people, you should not be alive. This earth is for the living. Every company needs to have there reps. go through training constantly on conflict resolution and empathy. Please give your representative Mackenzie some time off she had THE Worst disposition for 2 days in a row and must need it. My reservation on the 1st day Dec. 30th with Thrifty, Mackenzie the rep. was mediocre about the situation and NOT helpful. I blew it off for the sake of time and rescheduled my reservation for the next day. Day 2 Dec 31st I get to Thrifty and redirected to Hertz. Who's there MACKENZIE with a worst attitude than the day before. My check in felt like I was on the do not rent list LOL I'm laughing now but at the time the devil was going to use both of us. But because of the spirit I had and not "acting the fool" like she needed me to. I was picked up by another agency with an upgrade and for less. Moral is watch for the boomerang.

Absolutely horrible customer service the attendant was super rude and plus we have had a car booked for 4 months and when we got here they said they didn’t have a car available we had to wait over 3 hours!

Be very very careful. This location is trying to charge me nearly $600 for dropping a car in a one way rental in Orlando. Charging $1.75 a mile. Wasn't on the rental agreement and when I dropped in Orlando was advise no issue and they accepted the care there. The staff at Hilton Head are outright incompetent. Took me five calls to get someone to advise me what was going on. BE AWARE THIS IS NOT A HERTZ OWNED LOCATION. It is a franchise and they have their own rules. The contract I was given was a one page printout from the desk. Nothing else included. The contract mentions NOTHING about the absurd fees for drop off another location. NOTHING. BE VERY VERY CAREUL.Today I was advised by the Manager Scott that they became a franchise a few weeks ago and have not had time to change their telephone number. I had called the number on the website and NO ONE PICKS UP. Common theme at this site.

Awful....Terrible customer service. Made a reservation in February for this week (July 18) in Hilton Head. Arrived at the airport and was told they didn’t have a vehicle for us. No apology. Manager said they had 14 reservations and only 4 cars. I asked why would they take more reservations than cars and she said to take it up with corporate. Very rude. Called their customer service and she told me to call them directly. Tried calling them many, many times and it rings busy. I will NEVER use Hertz again!

We had a 9:30 reservation, arrived 10 min early but now it's 9:45 and there is no representative here. Very disappointed.After the Hertz representative arrived my son was told since he booked their policy changed and he can no longer rent a car. Before making the reservation we verified an 18 year old could rent from Hertz. My son recieved no notification of the policy change prior to showing up to get the car.
