Great tour service! Be patient during the high season it can get extremely busy. Definitely make reservations at the least a day in advance the earlier the better.

I recently signed up for this costly artisan tour of Daufuskie Island. As an artist and art teacher I was very much interested in meeting the Gullah people and learning about their rich history and crafts throughout their culture and lifetime. The directions of where to park for this initial ferry ride was not written anywhere and ended up having to pay $20 to park near the ramp of the ferry. Upon the arrival to the island, we were brought to the golf carts that we would be using for transport ourselves around the island. We were brought to a place where we could buy cookies, made by a white resident, brought to a wood structure where a white guy who makes pottery had a few bowls that were nothing other than ordinary and to a building where a white woman was making indigo tie dye clothing. As we drove down dusty unpaved roads which was blowing into my face, clothing and hair throughout the tour, we stopped at one church still standing and one residence which was once belonged to one native Gullah woman who was the island midwife during her time. We saw many lots of land for sale that wealthy whites were buying up to then turn this island into another rich white resort like Hilton Head. The current resort on the island we did not see, nor any of the beaches. We learned that there are no plans in place to preserve the natural wildlife that inhabits this island nor will there be any. Needless to say, my partner and I were extremely disappointed in this tour. It certainly wasn't what we expected. Don't waste your money here.

Had a wonderful time! The best part by far was the ride to and from the island. Trent made the experience more than just a boat ride. Highly recommend it and we'll be back ourselves!

We had great experience with this company. First, they were able to add a last minute person to our party without difficulty. Second, the office called ahead of time to offer us a next day tour due to weather concerns (it was chilly for a June weather) but our family can’t change schedule so they pushed through. Third, we were scheduled for a van tour and Eddie was informative. I think I learned and appreciated the island more than if I just took the self guided golf cart tour. This island is for people that likes a slow, relaxed spot. It is not meant for people that needs excitement and action; you need to go to Hilton Head for that.
