Deserves zero stars as they have no regard to customers. This Alamo is definitely the biggest scam of Hilton Head Island! I’m pretty sure they’re still in business only because they steal from people and that’s sinful. The managers there don’t care to do their jobs nor do the associates. I think it’s time someone investigates this location; cameras do exist..

If i could give zero stars I would. They didn’t have the vehicle I reserved months prior, and gave me an “upgrade”… a smoked in vehicle! We had been traveling all morning and wanted to get to our condo, and thought we could air the car out. No such luck. I spent the first day of my family vacation at a laundromat because the smoke had gotten into our luggage, our clothing, everything! That’s just the start- not a single return call to exchange the vehicle. After 2 days of not being able to use the car, I packed my family back into that FILTHY vehicle and dropped it back off. I was told by the manager I would “get some money back”, and was given an suv, which was my original rental. After returning the car, they charged my card the full amount! Still no call back about being charged incorrectly, and have now filed a claim with my credit card company! The hassle and service is despicable! Thankfully uber and other car services will be on the island soon! DO NOT RENT FROM ALAMO AT HILTON HEAD AIRPORT!!!

We booked an economy car in January for our stay at Hilton Head in March. Not only did Alamo not have a vehicle for us, but the agent told us to come back four hours later. She gave me the direct phone number to the desk so I could call before heading back to the airport (using Uber). Well no answer and a full mailbox on that line. I took an Uber back to the airport and was told we were 10th on a waiting list. Evidently RESERVATIONS DO NOT MATTER as Alamo will not honor them. The agent was still there and said to call back in the morning. I did that and no answer. Thanks Alamo - you cost back and forth to the hotel, bike rentals, and Uber rides to Savannah so that we could honor our pre-paid tour commitments. If only your company was HONEST with us, we could have made other plans. I will NEVER RENT from ALAMO again. The company does not care and neither does the staff. Thankfully Yellow Cab and Apple Transportation have ride options. BEWARE of ALAMO they will blame everything on one excuse or another. Just be honest.

I reserved a car for pick up today. I had a confirmation number. When I arrived at the airport, I was told there was no car for me. NO offers to get one tomorrow or try to rectify their error! The associate did not act like this was wrong or unusual or anything. I won't be using Alamo again.

I came to pick up the car that I rented online and was told there were no cards available. I showed her the confirmation number and was told that it didn't matter. There was no apologies, no offer to get one soon, no compensation. All after I reserved and had it confirmed!

Hired a car for an overseas trip but had to cancel. Alamo customer care was helpful but complications arose due to booking through booking. com. Advisable to book directly through Alamo and avoid 3rd party booking companies.

I am a disabled veteran. My wife and 8 year old daughter just flew in to Savannah and were supposed to pick up a rental car from the alamo there. It was paid for in full. They would not let her pick up the car because she did not have a credit card on her person (she doesn't even own a credit card). I offered to send them my ID, front, and back of my card that was used and they still said no and she was out of luck. She had the cash to cover the deposit and they wouldnt do anything AT ALL to help her. So alone, and in a town she doesn't know anything about, and with no credit card, trying to see a Marine graduate from boot camp, they turned her out into the cold even though she has a fully paid for rental in her name! I will be spreading the word of this as far as possible so no other veteran families have to endure the TOTAL LACK OF BASIC HUMANITY that my family has suffered today. Elliott Rivers, the manager and Artrell (apparently he's so new, no one knows how to spell his name or even know his last name), at the counter, refused to even call me back to talk to me at the Savannah airport location... And this company had the audacity to tell me AND MY WIFE to have a wonderful night and then hung up on me. Then, on another call, they simply said "that's our policy" and REFUSED to talk further. My God! If I had the money, I would pay people out of my own pocket to use ANY sevice other than this company and I will be posting this on any and all social media I can think of (even if I have to create an account just for this) so no one ever has to have this happen to them.

I called three weeks before Christmas to rent a van for Christmas week. The rental was from noon to noon.

HHH Alamo made it so easy to rent a car...they were very friendly, courteous and quick. Would recommend :)
