Deceptive marketing. They are NOT at the airport, but list themselves as if they're on-site at the airport. Very frustrating to realize after getting off a 10:30 PM arrival flight...

DO NOT RENT HERE - Especially if you are going to someone's home that might have a pet. Apparently, some dog hair was on our suitcases when we left our son's house and ended up in the carpet - along with some hair that was on our shoe bottoms i assume. I was totally shocked to see a $250 cleaning fee charge. Their policy says "Excessive pet hair, soiling or damage caused by animals will result in an extra cleaning charge....ranging from $50-$250." Im very sure they've never charged less than $250 and they absolutely will not discuss it once the charge hits. I had to wait 20 minutes on the bus and my van showed up 15 minutes later - and it was still wet from I assume an automatic cleaner because the back and most of the sides were still dirty. Unprofessional and just plain wrong!

Very rude and horrible. Booked via expedia. Return date I made was Nov 10th 2022 2:30pm Their invoice clearly says i made return 2:27pm and they charged 57.44 and total is $233 for just one day rental white total amount from Expedia was $176.22. Called thrifty and they said this location was privately owned. However received my call at this Greenville location started with "There is nothing I can do" from the beginning. This place is such an a******* I am filing claim whole $233 via my credit card company.

HIGHLY DISSATISFIED WITH JOHN at thrifty in Greer. I always rent from them and never had one issue. Always treated with respect. I returned my vehicle 2/13/2022 around 3. When I entered in to return my keys, John came at me, telling me to hand him the keys now!.... I was confused as to why he was demanding the keys in such a rude manor. He said I parked where the shuttle bus goes. Where I parked was no sign stating "Shuttle bus goes here". There was one beside me. I asked him very nicely would he like for me to go move it and he stated "NO!, I'll just do it myself!. He walks out shaking his head and mumbling under his breath. He then get in the truck and slams the door to check the odometer and gas, but still didn't move the truck. I've never been treated like this EVER since I been renting from them. After leaving I called back to let him know that I didn't appreciate the way I was treated and I asked for the Managers number and he stated that he was a supervisor. I said to him " there is no way you can be a supervisor treating a customer in such a manner". So I asked for corporate number and the number he gave me was to the insurance company. I highly recommend that either he goes back through training on how to treat customers or anger management classes!. As long as JOHN is working there I DO NOT RECOMMENDED ANYONE TO GO TO THIS LOCATION. He treated me as if I was a nobody.

STRANDED AT AIRPORT BY THRIFTY GSP AIRPORT So, I reserved an SUV vehicle through the Delta app with Thrifty beginning Easter Day April 4th 2021 at GSP (Greenville Spartanburg Airport, South Carolina). Once I landed at GSP Airport, I called the Thrifty Customer Service Number and got no answer. I tried multiple times, and got no answer. The Information Booth lady at GSP (as well as a person at Hertz Rental car) also tried to call Thrifty. No answer. Because all the other car rental agencies were already booked up for the Easter/Spring Break holiday (and no cabs or Uber rides were initially available) I was essentially stranded at the Greenville Spartanburg Airport due to Thrifty's non responsiveness. Bottom line: do NOT book a vehicle with Thrifty GSP Airport if you actually need a vehicle to go anyplace. Unless someone from Thrifty Corporate reaches out to me and provides a satisfactory explanation and response, I will never again book a rental car from Thrifty in my lifetime.

If you need to rent a cat at GSP-don't use Thrify/Dollar. First of all they are off airport property, you wait for a shuttle. The other rental companies are right at the terminal and you are out of there in 10 minutes. It took me an hour today. 20 for the shuttle then 40 at the rental counter. They were getting use to a new computer system and all employees were visible frustrated! I hope other days they run efficiently but I will spend a few more $$ and rent from someone else. I left very frustrated running behind with a dirty car I didn't reserve!

How is this place even in business? They are off site but shuttle never came to airport. We were holding on the phone for over 30 mins and no answer. We finally started walking towards the location and this is a treacherous walk involving high traffic(no sidewalk) areas. This place is a cesspool of infected fecal matter. Horrible first impression of the state! I hate you guys so much, I hope only the worst things happen to you in life.

I tried to rent a car on Saturday morning at 6:00 a.m.. I had reserved the car online the night before. Upon arrival, I presented my driver's license and my credit card, both names matched. The attendant proceeded to tell me that he needed to conduct a name verification by calling the bank. When I asked why, he said the owner had experienced fraud due to covid and due to that, everyone that rented a car from thrifty would need to have an additional name verification with the bank. well, it was 6:00 a.m., we waited for the bank rep to answer the phone, at least 15 minutes if not more. At one point the attendant said aloud to the bank representative, her credit card number is, and proceeded to read my entire credit card number! He then said, and her full name is, and told my full name. I was super upset! If another patron had been in the building, releasing my personal information in this way would have been very reckless! Also, I am not sure how this would work if multiple people were waiting in line to rent cars. The wait would be horrible, ie horrible customer service and the openness in sharing my personal information would have been unsafe. In addition, if you do not follow this practice for ALL customers, one could cite targeting and/or discrimination. I suggest you revisit this practice and come up with something else that it's safe and timely. If someone presents their driver's license and a credit card that should be plenty to move forward and renting the car without the additional hassle. In addition, they also did not have a mid-sized car available which meant I would have to pay for the next size up or, exemplary customer service would have provided the full-sized car they had available at the mid-sized price I requested. I will say that then attendant was pleasant and provided good customer service based on the policies and standards he must uphold. But exemplary customer service should always be the goal, right?

Great customer service. Clean and nice vehicles. Rent from here often and can’t recommend them enough. I have never had any issues from this location whatsoever!

Be careful with this rental place ! It is privately owned and they charge $49 when you return the car just half hour late !!! It would be better & Honest if they had the courtesy to inform customers about this Excessive charge at the time of rental. It looks like this is some way for them to recompensate or have you keep the car longer. I mean i was charged $49 per 1 hour late or else keep the car another day for $75 ! Shady practice. I got the impression that the owner is some crook from those big corrupt cities who moved in and studied flaws in the commerce atmosphere in south carolina and is trying to buck in on it, Like how NYC was in the 80's & 90's ( racketeering). their shortsightedness & dishonesty will most likely lead them to the same fate of many down spiraling businesses.

Absolutely horrible service, and not the vehicle I requested. Customer Service experience was terrible, attitude was terrible, and I specifically booked a particular type of vehicle a month in advance for a reason. The vehicle provided cost me about $150 extra in expenses and there was nothing any member of the staff was willing to do about it. I spoke to the service desk personnel, Wayne the manager, and then went up to corporate. I never even heard back from the owner of the Greer branch off Highway 14 (Thrifty/Dollar). That shows a complete disregard for their customers and I will never use their service again, and will re-direct anyone who inquires about them.

I'd give this place negative stars if I could. Left a wallet in the car. They didn't contact me to tell me. I was calling about something else and they happened to mention it. They said they mailed it. Called back 8 days later, they hadn't mailed it yet. While the wallet was in their possession, two charges were made during those dates on the credit card inside the wallet. I'm currently having a PI track the charges so I can sue them. Ridiculous. Bad customer service and an awful experience. Never again!!!!

We attempted to rent on vehicle on May 26 with Thrifty Car Rental located @ GSP airport. The worse experience ever! I was out of town and left my credit card at home and wanted to use my check card, which had enough funds to cover the rental. I believe the guy that tried to help us was named Sean, he was short. He told us he would have to get my insurance coverage from my person vehicle. He called my insurance company, asked them for my policy number, what kind of coverage do I have, how much my deductible is? What make and model vehicle do I drive?? He was having trouble getting all this information from our insurance company. I believe they asked Sean if there was an accident? He told them no, while we waited over 30 minutes while he kept trying to get information that did not pertain to the rental. We had informed him upfront we were paying for insurance from Thrify. After 30 minutes of him trying to obtain my personal information about my personal vehicle, we said, this is unnecessary, lets leave. Never have we been asked these questions to rent a vehicle. We left and went to Budget Car rental with far superior service. We were able to rent a vehicle without all those unnecessary questions! We have rented vehicles before and never received those harassing questions. Never will we use Thrifty Car Rental. We will stick with Budget Car Rental.

Tim at GSP is the absolute best!! He went miles out of his way to remedy a rental issue from another vendor. He went above and beyond to help us. Tim is the definition of customer service!!
