I lost my job after covid-19 and fell behind on my rent. One month behind on my rent with another month fast approaching I was pointed in the direction of The Salvation Army. Delighted to know that someone was going to help me out in a time of need I did everything that was asked of me from them. I was told to call at 8am sharpe Monday morning which I did but the lady I spoke with said “it’s first come first serve”. So even though I called at 8am sharpe for two weeks straight the lady I spoke with said someone was ahead of me. Finally on my third Monday I was the first person in line and was given a in person appointment for the rent assistance program. I brought everything that was asked of me and was on time. The lady told me all they could give was $200 which was absolutely fine with me cause at that time anything would help so I was grateful. I had my landlord sign all the paperwork needed and returned the same day. The check never came. I called multiple people asking what was going on and no one would tell me anything. The lady I spoke with over the phone and who I saw in person was very rude in here response and said “we’ve spoken with your landlord and she know what to do so there is nothing else I can say.” Three months pass still no check and my landlord is just as confused as I am. Either my landlord was holding the check or it was never sent out, I’m not sure but I’ll take the latter. Communication was absolutely awful and service was poor. I emailed the army several times with no response. After giving the run around from the army and my landlord I just said forget it and paid what I could with no help.

We had my Dad's celebration of life which began in the chapel and then went into the social Hall and had finger foods with pictures of my Dad through the years. We had music and fellowship and Major Jason was outstanding with help and with the music going. I couldn't have ask for anything better it all turned out to be the best service for my Dad and I honestly think he would have been proud of us all.
