Wells Fargo home mortgage underwriter Tim Hulst in Charlotte NC failed to identify cash deposit during our pre-approval on 5/6/21 which resulted in the failure of securing a home loan. The problem was identified 6/14/21 but no loan officer communicated this until 10 business days later, which was also 2 business days before the closing date. The problem could have been resolved by simple communication which they absolutely failed to do. Knowing underwriting requires 3 business days before close, the home seller backed out of the contract. Wells Fargo then claimed no fault resulting in my loss of out of pocket expenses in the amount of $1,340.00. This obviously doesn't account for my time, change in market value, and walk-in equity as the home appraised $13K over sell price. I would never recommend Wells Fargo to another individual, but they could really care less since they already have 11 million other customers.
