I shop here often. Today I went in looking for a specific men’s cologne and asked one of the associates where the men’s section is now located (it used to be its own aisle). She was extremely rude and said “we don’t have a men’s section”. I said “oh, you used to, so where is it located now”. She rudely answered “we never had a men’s section”. I pointed up at the large sign over an aisle that read “men’s section”. She shrugged and walked away. I tried asking her more but she wouldn’t answer. I asked another associate in the perfume section and she rolled her eyes and said the men’s were in with women. “Don’t you know your brand?” I said yes, but i was hoping to purchase the normal one I get and a new scent. Her response “well you can’t smell them here. They are locked up and I’m busy”
We left.
This is not the service I would expect from ulta and I’m now reconsidering the need to return when I can just as easily order what I need from online retailers or the brand itself.

Running to here every staff member is so
sweet Christy knew exactly what she was talking about and found my exact match she even offered a little extra blush and lip gloss to look put together I love this store so much.

I've had my hair done by Rebecca twice now and so pleased! She was just awarded master elite stylist status and she does a wonderful job. Super friendly and personable. She is why I came back the second time! The store is clean and always someone around to help!

Employees were super nice, but blonde haired and tattooed manager (Alyssa?) was openly yelling at the employees to greet customers louder and was very unfriendly during my checkout. She has a bad attitude and disappointing to see employees treated this way.

I had the worse experience with Akilah A. She cancel my appointment when I was having a hard time finding Ulta beauty. I even called to let her know at 5:03pm that I was lost in the shopping center 8 months pregnant walking while speaking with her. She was very helpful with directions but when I got in the salon finally she told me that she wouldn’t have time to assist me with my service. I got in the salon at 5:12pm I think it’s very inappropriate not to have a grace period for clients or inform them pior that you would cancel part of their appointment…

So I went on Monday to do a simple return. The girl at the register was extremely RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL,and also had a gallon of too much makeup that didn’t match her complexion. She asked when I purchased the order with the receipt in hand, but it was her questioning tone that I found extremely rude almost as if I was lying. I let her know that I needed to put it back on the original payment method so she called her manager over and they both told me and my husband that it couldn’t be done that way and that I needed a merchandise card. They said it was the only option. Meanwhile the girl at the register kept rolling her eyes at me because apparently she hates her job that much. My husband asked for the customer service number and told them to hold the return. I went to look at other things but since he was outside he saw both of the walk out because it was 4pm on the dot. So they were dying to leave and their customer service skills were atrocious! They told us that it couldn’t be done but the people from customer service confirmed that yes it could. I went to pay and the another girl that did the return and two other associates told me that yes they had to return it to the original payment option. They were extremely helpful! Those women are the type that roll their eyes and act with a sense of superiority then play victim when you say something to them because of their behavior. To have a manager know that it could’ve been returned just proves that they were doing it on purpose! Just dreadful! Do better and if you hate retail go back to school and get a better job!

While the policy of locking up fragrances felt unnecessarily cumbersome, suggesting a lack of trust and hindering the shopping experience, Tia's approach softened this impact considerably. Her presence alone is a reason to prefer Ulta over competitors, proving how crucial personal interactions are in retail. If the policy were different, allowing for a more autonomous exploration of scents, it would enhance the experience significantly. Nonetheless, it's Tia's remarkable service and spirit that would keep me coming back. Her dedication deserves recognition, highlighting how individuals like her are invaluable to a business, especially in times of change.
