Small but free art museum in downtown Greenville was a great place to kill time while we waited for our Airbnb to be ready. There was some construction in the front so you had to come in the back door where a receptionist told you what floors were open (two were) and how to access them. Wyeth exhibit was good.

Very nice Museum for the area's population. Welcoming staff and noticed young children having exited the building. Very good statement promoting the arts.Enjoyed the Andrew Wythe watercolors. My parents in Houston collected some.
Welcome to the Greenville County Museum of Art. Considered the premier American art museum in the South, the GCMA is home to the world’s largest public collection of watercolors by iconic American artist Andrew Wyeth. The GCMA also has an impressive collection of paintings and prints by contemporary artist Jasper Johns, the largest institutional collection of pottery by enslaved artisan David Drake, and the largest collection outside the Smithsonian of works by South Carolina-born artist William H. Johnson. Ranging from Federal portraits to contemporary abstractions, the GCMA’s acclaimed Southern Collection invites viewers to survey American art history through works with ties to the South.
