Some of the produce is quite bad. There are expired items on shelves. Not a well stocked store. Staff stands around at front of store with only 2 lines open with cashiers. The rest is self-checkout. Staff has customers all line up behind 1 self check-out area. Why not stand at the beginning of the self checkout area and ask people to line up in 2 lines for the self-checkout spots and do a better job of directing people? Or open more full service lanes? And offer a lane for 10 items or less? Husband asked an employee in the deli a quick question a few weeks ago about the baked chicken and sides. Her response? "I'm on break". Then why was she standing there? And she couldn't take a moment to answer or direct him to someone who could? Whenever I go to this Food Lion I feel like I'm in a "Curb Your Enthusiasm" episode. I had to run in to pick up a few items; never again, not even if I'm desperate. There are a lot of other grocery stores around with comparable prices, better food, nicer staff. If you use coupons or a loyalty card you will spend about the same at the other stores for the most part. And have a better experience.

Been this location more than 100 times and today my wife and I spending $300 on groceries when ready to checkout we approached the cashier name Cathy ,she refused to serve us. I can tell she’s having a bad day but it’s is ridiculous and unprofessional to bring your personal problems to work. I asked her nicely 2 times if she can find us another cashier who can serve us so that we’re not holding up the line. This cashier name Cathy said to us “ why not go find yourself or go through the self checkout “. At this point I ask for the manager who did came by her name was Sarah and first thing she said to me and my wife was “ if we don’t like the cashier service we can do self check out ourselves. I mean really ?!!!!! We just spend $300 some dollars at this business and y’all want us to serve ourself? Everything is on camera and I will contact cooperate to look into this matter cuz it’s really unprofessional and disrespectful for us costumers who spend more than $300 everytime we shop for groceries here.

I have been shopping here out of convenience because it is close to home. They have a very big issue with selling expired food. I purchased a healthy choice meal from the frozen food department and it was one year expired! Of course I took it back and spoke to the manager because this has happened several other times with food items. It's a shame because it is so close to home but I will not be shopping there anymore.
