2 power outages in 3 days in sub-freezing weather...???... Nobody Answers the Phone...!!!!! No Explanation of why we're out of power or what or when it might come back on... And even after their asking to leave a call back on the automated phone lines - they Don't Even Call Back.... ????This is the worst electric company we have ever ever had to deal with... Oh forgot to mention we have a 10-month-old baby here ..We thought we'd get on here to leave them one star (1★) but out of over 100 ratings they only have one star (1★) - OMG how pathetic....This is a complete and total obvious point to the troubles here, and should be telling you people at broad River electric corporate you must be doing something wrong.... FIX IT OR GET OUT AND LET SOMEONE THERE WHO CAN...WE DO NOT RECOMMEND AND WOULD NOT USE ~ BUT HAVE NO CHOICE..!!!!!!!!!

The lady that worked in the office where we had to go to get our power turned on because we're new to the state was completely rude

Way too damn expensive. These rates are insane. $100 for barely 700 square feet, set in the 70's for the thermostat temp? Gimme a break.

They over charge for electricity, then when you try and pay your bills on time online, their server is down, one phone number to reach them, and it is down, no other way to get ahold of someone, and when you finally do, you get a customer service??? agent who asks you if you have your pay stub? Yes, dear I do, I live 25 miles from town, pay my bills online, and would think that you would have good online services, and more than one phone number to get ahold of someone. But I will be the one that is charged extra fees for not being able to get my billed payed in a timely manner due to your lack luster services.

Power seems to go out relatively quickly when a baby thunderstorm rolls through. Quite disappointed in the grid resiliency of this area. I think the low reviews from others here reflect the same opinion of this coop. They also charge higher per kWh than other utilities in the area. Good news is they can only improve from this point

My bill is normally decent but every December through February it triples everyone else I know in the area does the same. I don't decorate outside for Christmas so are we paying for the towns decorations? The service members are great and friendly every time I need to speak with them so that's my only real problem

People in the office and answer the phone are very rude each and every time. No matter now ‘nice’ I am. My family has been with them since I can remember and we’ve always had problems. However if they end up pissin someone else off. Go up there to make your payment. In unrolled Pennies. They have to take it lol and count it. Just fyi for you petty people out there.

For two days now when I call the number listed online it immediately hangs up. Would be beneficial to be able to get in touch with the power company.

CROOKS! How is it even legal?!?!Had I known our house was being built in a Broad River Electric area, we would have never bought this home. Our friends who live 2 minutes down the road have Duke Energy and pay half of what we are paying for a much smaller home. Our house is brand new with top of the line insulation but still costing us $300 a month to heat (on 69° - 71°) due to these money hungry animals. Zero stars if I could.

Had duke. I asked the realtor if the new land we were on was duke. He said yes. We found out we got broad River after signing the papers to our new construction home. So angry. Of course they charge way too much. If I knew earlier I would not have built my home here.

i never write reviews but i need yall to understand how horrible this place is. i stayed in a small 600sq foot house and my power bill some months were nearly if not over $300 ! i was paying almost the amount of rent just to heat and cool and two bedroom. not to mention i had a well but needed to pay just for the power to pump & heat my water so total some months. easily $400. i moved out twonyears ago and the balance that i owed is almost $500 for a month i wanna say. I asked if i could get a reciept and she told me the only way of doing that is coming up to the office in gaffney. Now you're telling me i am about to pay you $500 almost and you cant email or fax me or take a picture and text me my reciept. mail it or something ! the arrogance of this company. they should really do better because i will turn down any property no matter how great at this point than to rather have another account with thia company. yall ! do better please. like what if i didnt live in state ! what would my options be ?? that is sad !
