Hidden costs marked as taxes. Went to the store to buy souviners and each item had a tax. Bought a souviner for $18.99 and was charged $19.76 + 9% Sales taxes.
I was curious and asked what's the additional tax and was told it's what the computer says!!! I asked again I see a 9% Salesforce taxes, the item I bought has a price tag for $18.99 why dis you ring it for $19.76?...Guess what she said..."it's what the computer says"!!
I would like transparency as a customer to what I am paying for, they lack integrity.

Price gouging at its finest. They sold 22.99 sunscreen when it's 6-8 at the local store. I'd rather fry in the sun over purchasing that.

Cute place. Cashier was outside smoking so we didn't buy anything.

If I could give negative zero stars, I’d mark that. We bought two beach chairs and in less than 24 hoursWe brought them back UNUSED with a receipt and they would not give a refund NOR would they allow us to exchange it for any other merchandise. These chairs were purchased for my 83 year old mother, but then we realized she wouldn’t be able to get out of them because they were so low to the ground. We were headed to the store to buy souvenirs to take back to others, but we will find another store to spend our money. The “manager” was a smart elic too and referenced an return/exchange policy indicating that chairs couldn’t be brought back past two hours of the time of purchase even unused. Ironically, there is no such reference on the taped down store policy at the register which is funny. She doesn’t even know that the policy didn’t indicate such. Took a pic of that too. Too bad, it is a nice store but their customer service is lackluster, at best & customer service matters! Take your business elsewhere.

So disappointed in the customer service at this particular beach shop. I bought two beach chairs, but once we got back from the store realized after further assessment that the chairs were too low to the ground and I’d struggle getting out of them at 83 years old. We took them back to the store within 24 hours unused to get a refund or at least exchange new chairs for new merchandise that I at least can use. The “manager” who is clearly not customer service oriented was unkind and mocking when I pointed out that their “policy” she referenced as “can’t return chairs if after 2 hours of purchase time” wasn’t actually in the policy she referenced at the register. ?. She would not even allow an exchange when I heard someone come in for an exchange the day I bought the chairs with no hassle (but the sales clerk wasn’t the “manager” that was there today). It’s a rude and unwelcoming beach store that is not opting for customer service. I’d spend your money somewhere else that will provide better customer service. Better not make a mistake in your purchase if you consciously choose to spend here because they won’t be able to help you AT ALL if you change your mind. Too bad!!

One of the largest gift shops in the area. Shirt prices are below other shops in the area, but other gifts are about average for the area. I would recommend this location based just on options and size of the store!

I bought a few things there and one of the mugs broke so I went back the same day and the gal working was so rude. If she would have just explained that they don't earn things I would have been fine. But instead she said "you can get a new one if you pay. Did I break it? You broke it so not my problem". Honestly it was just shockingly rude. I won't go back based on the lack of customer service. I'd give 0 stars if that was an option

Terrible service. The attendant couldn't be bothered to buy a cheap trinket. Maybe patronize someone who wants the business.

Sitting on Center Street, connected to the Vacasa Rental spot and next to the Circle K is Islander, one of the few souvenir shops lining the main strip of Folly. Islander is fairly large, surprisingly larger than it appears from the road. Like most shops they feature a plethora of local branded items from shirts, cups, hats, frames, sticker, magnets, etc...as well as a large variety of toys, Knick knacks and even shoes. Prices are what you would expect with most clothing ranging from $16 - $30. Service left something to be desired. And honestly, the service was non-existent. The cashier was standing behind the counter and was not paying attention to anyone in the store and even when I walked by the counter and made eye contact, she still refused to speak. Maybe she was already tired of the tourist crowd...but If that is the case, then she has a long season ahead of her! Overall, Islander is a local souvenir shop that will do you well if you are after some gifts for yourself or folks back home, as well as any last minute toys or supplies you may need.
