Folly Beach County Park is a beautiful and clean beach with wonderful soft sand. It is very family friendly and not very crowded, though it gets crowded fast so arriving early is advised. The beach has something for everyone, with big waves for body surfing and boogie boarding, yet gentle enough at the shore for kids. There is a long and wide sandbar to walk on. The grounds and restrooms are very clean and well-maintained, with a helpful mat to walk out to the beach. Parking costs fifteen dollars. A snack bar has amazing food at great prices. Umbrellas and chairs are available for rent. Be careful as the water moves very fast and far when the tide comes in.
