The owner is dangerous. Do not stay here. He refuses to keep his dogs on a leash and one of them just bit a baby. There's an 85 year old woman living there on disability with no air conditioning. Someone is going to get hurt or much worse.

Jim's one of the greatest hosts!From weekend, week or month cottage rentals and rental boats ..this is a fun and relaxing vacation holiday place to stay with the whole family! Hot tub , sauna and work out equipment lakefront Beach and plenty of bbq areas for fun times.Thanks again

Launch your boat and maybe rent a cabin. That's about all they have. No more tackle shop or restaurant. It's much different from when it was known as Cypress Shores.

I have went to lakeside for years they always make you feel like family the owns and staff make you feel at home if you are looking for a four star hotel this is not the place for you if you are looking for a nice cabin cottage houseboat or camper by the lake with friendly people this is the place for you

Do not buy a pontoon from this man! My family was buying a boat from him an they had it nearly paid off an this man took it back with all the money my family put into this pontoon to have it run somewhat decent! The boat my family was buying he was charging 2× what it was worth! We were told later on that that was his specialty to let you think you gonna pay it off then take it back! Please think an examine anything before you buy it from him!

What an awesome place, they have great Pontoon boats for rent and sale, we already have our Pontoon picked out. And they have great cabins for rent at a reasonable price, it includes one full day rent for a Pontoon boat and unlimited use of paddle boards kayaks or canoes.

My family and I have been here twice, both times was such a pleasant experience. The owner and employees are super attentive & kind! We didn't have to go anywhere, all the fun was right there! I have 5 kids and we've not been on one single trip that has compared to the fun they have at this place!

I wouldn't rent a cottage from this man let alone a camp sit.dont rent a boat slip and pull out early he will not give you back any money.the grounds are not kept up.he is very dishonest

The worst, most carelessly run marina I've ever been to, including "third world" countries... There is no reason to go here, none. There is nothing redeeming about this place. The dock is falling apart because they won't adjust lines when the lake water level changes. The boats are pulling it apart and out of the water. The docks are hazardously uneven and full of obstacles. The water level drops and you sit on the bottom, sometimes for weeks. The electric looks like an electrocution waiting to happen. My charger got blown up here. I was moved to a slip under the trees with no notice, scuppers got clogged and then the boat flooded with rainwater. Sometimes waves come in off the lake and rock and bump the boats mercilessly. People will steal your bumpers and lines. Find somewhere to anchor out and take your chances. You'd be better off. Do not expect any one to look after your boat in the smallest, most rudimentary way. Expect no word of anything amiss or any warnings from the owner, Jim, even if your boat is sinking. This place is inhabited and run by clue-less idiots en masse. You've been warned.Update after reading other reviews: Oh yeah, those two boxers of the owners run amuck and are SUPER obnoxious...they'll "nip" you. I wonder how many lawsuits this place is under?

Lakeside was recommended by a personal friend in Santee, however After reading the reviews I was Skeptical.So pleased that We went with the personal recommendation. My adult sons came home (Santee) for the Fourth of July and we rented a pontoon boat from Lake Marion resort for two days. The staff was friendly and helpful the morning we picked up the boat as well as in the return system.We had a blast out on the water. The first day was a partial rain out but we enjoyed the time we had. Day two was all sunshine and laughter.We would rent again. I often find that you get great service if you give great respect. Mr. Jim and I talked a few times before the rental and he was pleasant in person as well. My sons found all the employees friendly and respectful.Only issues were the radio didn’t work, but we live in the day and time of phones and blue truth speakers. The boat wasn’t as fast as many others out on the water, but we weren’t in a hurry. Boat rentals aren’t cheap- so be prepared. I’m sure insurance is insane on a boat rental resort.All and All we would rent again. Our experience with Mr.Jim , his crew and the boat were pleasant.

Really nice people, BUT we were charged multiple times, received a pretty dirty boat and the boat didn't work past about 10 minutes (we had to return it due to engine issues). They had no other boats to offer us, but they did offer free kayaking. Between the dirty, not working boat, being charged multiple times, and the poor state of the dock, I had to give only 2 stars.

We had a TERRIBLE experience here. I wish I had read the reviews in depth because I would have known better. I am writing this review so that you don’t make the same mistake. This place is a scam.Many of the reviews describe a very similar experience. I am now fearful that this scam artist has our credit card information and will charge us at random as the reviews have stated. I am canceling this card as a result.Here are the cliff notes:- No one was at the marina despite having a reservation and calling that morning to confirm- After calling, a man arrived 20 minutes later, did not introduce himself and proceeded to smoke a cigarette- We had to initiate conversation to get our rental started despite standing there waiting when the man arrived- We were shown one dirty boat but it did not have all the safety requirements- We moved to another dirty boat with empty beer cans and got our tutorial- The boat only had ¼ tank of gas and when we called to inform them, they said we could fill it up ourselves- We returned to the marina and demanded a refundI feel bad for the people that had an even worse experience than us. This awful establishment needs to change or be shut down. Don’t waste your money.

For the first time in years i returned to the lake where my family always held events and always spent time together for years of my life !!! my family members rents the cabins at this property and invited me as well as my significant other (LET ME MENTION HES BLACK ) over for dinner and to fish off the dock !! From Charleston i drove to this resort and it brought back so many memories i was ready to share them with my significant other unfortunately the owner / staff doesn't know how to treat others nor speak to them respectfully and not like animals !! LET ME ALSO MENTION ME AND MY SIGNIFICANT OTHER SMOKES BLACK AND MILDS AS WELL AS E CIGS !!! We are there for maybe an hour and this man walks out and ask us what we are doing there i respond with "we are visiting family " and this hateful man looks at me and my boyfriend and says "DONT BE DOING ANY DOPE ON THIS PROPERTY DO IT ON YOUR OWN PROPERTY " GREAT !!! So i tell him i don't do any type of drug !!! i smoke products you purchase out of your everyday gas station ! He begins to argue with me obviously finding a reason to cause a sense !!! My family member tells me they smoke all tobacco products out there all the time and nothing is said but the moment me and my black significant other does we basically get bashed and accused of being junkies in front of people the most harassing and embarrassing thing i have had to deal with in my life ... AND FOR ALL THE ONES WHO WILL TAKE UP FROM THESE PEOPLE SO YOU KNOW MY SIGNIFICANT OTHER WORKS 6 days a week ,he also delivers food for extra spending money ,no charges on his record , never been to jail , never done drugs , never sold drugs ..... HE FOUGHT FOR OUR COUNTRY IN A DIFFERENT COUNTRY FOR YEARS AND THIS IS HOW YOU REPAY HIM ... i will be posting this everywhere !!!
