Cal made it a great day from beginning to end. Started with sharks, dozens of sharks, then moved into the river for flounder, trout, and redfish. Very attentive and knowledgeable of the area. Thank you!

Shawn did a great job today with the dolphin tour! He made the experience memorable and answered the 20 questions at least about the dolphins from our 7 years old. Highly recommend this place.

Our family of 12 went out today on the boat trip to Otter Island. It was a FANTASTIC experience. Everyone had a great time and loved exploring the island. We found shells, sand dollars, and watched crabs scooting around. On the way back to the marina, our amazing tour guide, Captain Sean, stopped because he spotted some dolphins!! The 5 kiddos that were on the boat were so amazed while watching the dolphins in their natural habitat. All in all, we had a wonderful trip.An added bonus, our amazing guide also helped get my sister, who is in a wheelchair, get on and off the boat. It was a great experience for all!

Had a great time with our captain Cal! He took us to several spots where the first couple of casts in the water netted some beautiful fish, then when things quieted, took us to the next spot. Ended up with 11 fish on the boat today. It was really nice to have a private boat at a reasonable cost for a morning of pure fun and relaxation! Thanks Cal and Edisto Watersports!

I signed up for the guided kayak tour. The website boasted “beginners are welcome!” I did not find this to be the case. I’m not unfit nor incapable, just an inexperienced kayaker. The rest our our group had experience but the guide said that he’d keep an eye on all of us. Less than 10 minutes into the tour the whole group had paddled so far away from me I could never have been able to catch up. They never stopped or, as far as I could tell, even looked back to see where I was. I was forced to turn around and go back by myself rather than get lost somewhere while trying to keep up. Didn’t get to hear any part of the tour. The only reason I’m giving three stars is because the woman at the counter was very kind to me and I appreciated that.

Let me start by saying the young men that were our “guides” were great and did the best they could on our kayaking tour. They were super knowledgeable about the area (well beyond their years) and really had a passion for the region. Job well done there, finding such talent. The kayaks were solid and of good quality. Good there too. That said, the owner needs a bit of a wake up call. As a mariner, I’ve never seen someone so cluelessly unaware of approaching weather. Several in the kayak tour group asked about the weather and were dismissed. He not only risked the safety of his clients but his guides as well. We made it all the way down to the mound on an incoming tide. By the time we turned at the mound, the storms were on top of us. Now the group of about 14 kayakers had to try to paddle upwind and against the current about 2 miles to get back to safety. About half of the group we were assigned to go with (including many kids under 12) should not have been allowed out by themselves on flat water, let alone where we were. No one came to assist by boat and only one person even met us on the dock as everyone scrambled to get out of the water. Just bad judgement and poor decision making from those that should known better.
