Okay so this happened last year but it still bothers me so i'm just going to go ahead and put this so maybe someone in management will see it and do something. (okay get ready for a back story) I have a renal mass. A urologist has been monitoring it and i had a upcoming appointment. Well, right before my appointment i had to go to my primary care doctor in regards to my feet turning abnormal colors and numbness. Well she ran test and said after my follow up with my urologist, call back and schedule a follow up with her to go over my results because she believed i had Raynaud's syndrome. Well, i called back after the urologist to do that and the nurse who talked to me acted as if i was off my rocker and told me "if i had questions about my renal mass i needed to call the urologist" But i wasn't calling for my renal mass, i was explaining to her the doctor wanted to follow up with me after that appointment in regards to the other thing and she said " there's nothing you can do besides keep your feet bundled honey" that upset me so i hung up. She then went in my chart and wrote i was yelling at her then abruptly hung up on her but she didn't tell the full details of why i called or anything. This is just unacceptable. I mean honestly the communication skills aren't there and just the will to do her job isn't there either. Being a nurse is about being compassionate, caring and sympathetic. She was not. I understand working with people can be crazy but don't categorize your bad experience with some, make you portray a sour attitude on the rest of us. I also struggle with severe anxiety and a panic attack disorder and that experience literally made me think " I would literally rather die than go back there" that is sad. I will be switching practices. However i hope the sweet doctors that do actually care about their patients find better nurses to work for them, or atleast replace the one.

Everyone that used to make this place a great family doctor has left, they don't keep staff very long now. The doctor I was seeing even told me they would not reccomend bringing my child here. That should tell you something. They are also rude and do not listen to the patient. I would not reccomend this practice.

Patterson family practice is a discrimination place. If you are not white they do not treat you right I’ve been having problems with them for the past couple months. I’ve been watching them and observing them they treat their white people right when it comes to color people they are disrespectful. They make fun of them as they leave the office. This place is horrible and one of the worst places to go.

I try and only go here once a year to renew my prescription. I'm actually dreading going back to renew again. I went in the office because I have to take a test by law to get my prescription or I otherwise would not go in. Ive been to urgent care for most things because most the time they dont have an appointment soon enough for immediate needs. The doctor was out for medical leave and I had to see someone else. The person I saw made me uncomfortable and jumped to the extreme of suggesting I have historectimy done to manage my pain and symptoms when I only was there just for renewing my medicine that is already helping. They almost forgot to even have me do the test. I could have walked out of there without doing it if I hadn't said something. I already went to a specialty doctor for this and they said they did not recommend historectomy for me and suggested I stay on prescription to manage symptoms. So it was a shock that he would nonchalantly suggest I do that without blinking. That's not a minor surgery!I'm sad Dr. Smart left but I hope whatever she moved on to is for the better. She was a wonderful doctor to have when she was here. This was my first visit after she'd left.

This place is a waste of time. I drove 40 minutes, just for my appointment and they refuse to see me because I was a little late But i was still there within the 15 minutes window. They refused to work with me. And refused to see me. The staff were rude and and definitely not accommodating. I walked out in tears and will never go back to this sub par, lacking in manners and kindness hole in the ground!

I have been a patient since the 80s when it was Dr. junker, Mathis, and cook. I was fortunate to meet Dr. Smart when she started working there. I have been seeing her for the last six years. Unfortunately another hospital system has bought Powdersville Family Practice out and they are no longer the family practice they used to be. The Dr. Hamilton is arrogant, judge mental and does not really care what you want or need.. they appear to be in it for the money. Nothing more.I recommend finding another family doctor!!! I am going to!You will read good reviews from four or five years ago that are correct! But over the last year the whole staff has been fired/relocated I’m not sure! Mercy health care has ruined the place I called my family doctor for over 35 years!

Wife had annual physical and they incorrectly coded it as a medical visit. Now insurance won't pay. Sent 3 mychart messages and called numerous times but they won't respond.Left 10 years ago due to terrible staff and came back 2 years ago because it was supposed to be better. It was better with Dr. Pruitt and Dr. Smart but they left. Now its dr hamilton and the bad times have returned.

ZERO Retention with their staff... cant tell you how many different people I've seen..Tried to get a refural to imaging because I have something stuck in my throat. They called me and said tough luck. Go to urgent care. I need a new family med. Doctor. I will not be returning to Powdersville. Enough is enough....

They only want to see the people that they know they can squeeze the most money out of their insurance. They don’t care about helping you, they only see dollar signs.

Been trying to get in touch with someone. Anyone, just to fill my inhaler prescription which I’ve ran completely out of during allergy season and been having major trouble breathing and even going up and down stairs. I’ve gotten no response, so now I’m having to find a new doctor and wait weeks to get an appointment. Clearly they don’t care about their patients.

If you decide to try this place, be sure to bring your attorney along. This place has gone from great to bad to terrible over the years: Great when it was a doctor partnership. Bad when the doctors began reaching retirement age. Terrible when they sold out to Bon Secours. These days you can't get an appt with a real doctor for months. Wait times even with an appointment are terrible. Prescriptions are in the computer and they still can't get it right - I was offered a prescription that I'm allergic to, even though their computer had it on file. Additionally, requested refills (a topical ointment and an acid reflux refill) were not filed with the pharmacy. The newest terrible things: They want to do a drug test on everyone that walks in, saying it's a Bon Secours policy. They won't refill your prescription without one, even though they prescribed it for you. You have to sign a multi page form for the drug test to get your refills. They also post your medical information online whether you like it or not. That's part of the agreement. Read it. It's about 10 pages. Something like this shouldn't even be presented without a lawyer present. For real. It's insane that they blindside something like this to patients.I'm fed up and looking for another office where I can see an actual doctor in a reasonable amount of time, get prescription refills that actually work for me on a single visit without a follow up phone call reminding them I'm allergic to that, days wait for the correction, not have to submit to unnecessary drug tests, and above all have a caring doctor who understands your needs and respects doctor- patient privacy.if you need real medical care, move on. While they do have one good doctor here, she's not worth the Bon Secours (BS). She would be wise to open her own office. Until she does, keep shopping.

I have been going to PFP since I was a child, (I'm 42 now) and since the original doctors (Junker, Koch, Mathis) have retired, this place has become terrible. It's so bad now, that I just made an appointment with a different doctors office. The ladies at the front desk are rude and apparently do not know what they are doing. Rude in person and they are rude when they answer the phone, if you can get them to answer the phone. It's disappointing because I liked Karla but I can no longer be a patient to such an incompetent office. They should fire the office manager and replace all the front office staff. I wish Karla would move to another clinic so I could continue as her patient. My double insurance and I will pay for a friendly staff.
