While we're sympathetic & empathetic to any business, we're highly disappointed with our experience with Camp Bow Wow. This is about the 3rd or 4th time that we have boarded our 2-year-old Goldendoodle & we can confidently say that it will be our last.
Throughout our 6 day trip, we took advantage of using the live webcams that Camp Bow Wow provides to check on our pup & make sure that he was doing okay. We began noticing that we barely saw our dog out in the play yard with other dogs. Knowing that there are several different cameras, we would find ourselves leaving the live webcams on just to see if our pup would get in the frame. However, throughout these moments of us checking he never did. We chalked it up to coincidence & we checked at a bad time. Throughout our trip, we checked over 10 times and we only noticed him out in the yard with the other dogs 2 times. This raised concern to us since we noticed that there were tons of other dogs out in the play yard, however, our dog was nowhere to be found. Again, we understand that maybe they need to separate some dogs for breaks, they're playing a little too rough, etc. The issue was the frequency with which we found our dog not to be in view of the cameras or playing/being in the presence of the other dogs.
On our last day we called at 12:49 pm we asked how our dog was doing & were told that he was doing great! We expressed that we didn’t see him in the camera & were told that he had “just been put back” into his “crate” or wherever they keep the dogs when they are not out in the yard. Keep in mind that there still were a ton of dogs out in the yard, our dog was not. I assume this was for “lunchtime”. Our feeding instructions are to give our pup one meal in the morning & one for dinner, so we're unsure why he was put away at 12:49 for “lunch” when he doesn’t eat lunch. Later on at 3:47 pm we checked the cameras once again & noticed our pup was nowhere to be found. Again, waiting around for a while to see if it was because he was out of frame. We called once again & were told that he had just put back “in” for dinner time. We kept the cameras live on our phone until he was put back in the play yard at 5:42pm. At 6:20pm the cameras were turned off as the pups were put away for the night.
We then were told that meal breaks are 1.5 hours. 30 minutes for eating & 1 hour to prevent bloating. For the day that is 4.5 hours put away for eating. We were also told that they are taken out to go to the bathroom at 6:30 am & then put in the play yard at 9 am. They are then put back in their kennels at around 6:30pm. In total, they're in their kennels about 16.5 hours a day. We were under the impression our pup would be getting the exercise he needs before being put away from 6:30pm - 6:30am.
We also requested a nail trim/buff. I had expressed that the previous time I boarded him I had requested a nail trim/ buff & they told me they “couldn’t do it”. It was due to him “jerking his hand too much”. I was reassured by the employee that they would be able to do the nail trim/buff this time around. Upon picking him up they had said they weren’t able to do the nail trim/buff due to the same reasons. Again, I expressed that was the same reason they gave me last time & they again, reiterated that he kept moving too much. We assume that if you offer these services, you can perform them on an animal that is typically known for moving around a lot during any grooming services.
We're incredibly disappointed in the lack of professionalism & communication throughout our trip. We're aware that it is not ALL employees who work at Camp Bow Wow who are responsible for the functions of this business. However, I do strongly recommend Camp Bow Wow as a whole to improve on their communication & transparency with other dog owners to ensure that they truly do have “peace of mind” about where their dog is staying (per what i

We have used them since they first opened. The facilities are great and the people are better! We have moved away from the Easley area but we still travel back to them for grooming and boarding. A wonderful place.

If you are looking for one-on-one obedience training, look no further. Kaya at Camp Bow Wow (Powdersville) is an excellent instructor. She met Brutus, my 76 pound puppy, with the enthusiasm and patience that all active, high drive K-9s deserve. In a matter of weeks he has been transformed from a "bulldozer of a dog" to an attentive "good boy."

We walked in the door and the smell was terrible! The girl who was at the front desk was not friendly or welcoming at all. We walked out and sent a message telling them that we were no longer interested.

Camp bow wow in Powdersville is FANTASTIC! The staff is so kind and they genuinely care for my pup. They go the extra mile every time we board our dog. The staff is great at communicating with pet owners while your pet is at boarding.
The facility is very clean, in fact if you watch the cameras you will see the staff cleaning up after a dog uses the restroom. You will also see them cleaning the play areas regularly.
Our pup loves staying there and gets so excited when we pull into the parking lot. I’d highly recommend them to anyone looking for daycare or boarding!
