Nice place to visit and take young children, so they can experience feeding some of the animals; there was only 1 behive to see, and it was very active. The zoo for the most part is clean; many of the animals are in cages that are too small, no water in many cages, and they are bored- nothing to keep them active. The gift shop was nice and the honey is being sold for a very good price.

We had the best time at Bee City! I’m not sure who was more excited, my 6 year old or me. There’s so much to see and do, and every member of the staff that we encountered were knowledgeable, helpful, and you could just tell they loved their job. We loved feeding the lemurs, taking a picture with the baby kangaroo, and the safari ride. We will be back!

We booked an animal encounter here and got to hold and interact with a joey, a ring tailed lemur, an armadillo, and a sloth. The experience was informative, entertaining, and something we will never forget. It was something we would probably do again if we are ever in the area. Their zoo is also a hidden gem. There is a wide range of animals and they all appeared to be well taken care of. There are lots of opportunities to get up close and personal with them as well as feed them. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our family enjoyed this intimate zoo experience over many of the other city zoos we have been to. This is a well kept secret near Charleston that should be shared. If you are in the area, I would highly recommend making a stop here. You won’t be disappointed.

Went today with my two grandkids age 3 and 7. I highly recommend this family friendly zoo. We were there for over 4 hours and did not completely see everything due to time constraints. The staff are wonderful and the safari is so much fun. We enjoyed everything there. We will be back.

Great place for kids and adults. Closest thing to a zoo to Charleston. Lots of animals and interaction feeding almost all of them. Recommend buying tickets online and reserve a safari ride. It's not a very long ride but you will get to feed some of the larger cows, bulls, camels. Some of the animals do seem like they are in too small of enclosures.

We really enjoyed ourselves at this zoo! I highly recommend the animal encounter. 100% worth the spend. We visited with the baby kangaroo, ring-tailed lemur and the baby goat. They were all super friendly but the ring-tailed lemur took the cake! He was super interactive and quite funny. Loads of animals to see. We went on a cloudy slightly rainy day which was perfect because it was not super crowded. Love this place!

First of all, your staff is the best. They are so friendly and accommodating. We were so disappointed that we missed the giraffe feeding and the aviary. I guess we were on the safari. You have done a lot with the place since we've been coming - at least 14 years. All good improvements. However, it needs sprucing up badly. Maybe a good paint job. Can you do anything about the drainage? Better and larger signage is needed in some places.

Very cool animals and great vision for the zoo. Not worth the entrance fee as it currently is.

Absolutely love the place EXCEPT for the tigers area. I use to buy season family pass but couldn't continue to watch some animals like tigers n the foxes be in such small areas. The owls and other birds in cages that have no room. Maybe instead of expanding more to add more animals yall could expand some of the areas of the animals u already have. Maybe give them toys to play with rather than just sitting or standing.

I rode around in a mobility scooter and the terrain was easy! No big hills. I made it easily up and down the giraffe ramp and fed a giraffe a carrot. I love the parakeets and I watched them land on my son's arms and eat out of his hands!I like the ring tailed lemurs and the monkeys! The alpacas and their goofy grins are a delight! A great place to enjoy animals and interact with them through food! Please consider leaving the Cafe open til 4 pm everyday. Thank you!

I’m a nanny and I love taking the kids there! It’s such a fun place! A lot of different animals, you can feed them, pet them, learn about them! There’s a bird cage, you go in and the birds are eating out of your hands and can sit on you! You can pet and feed kangaroos and feed monkeys + a lot of other animals! The safari ride is also amazing to get close to cool animals! Definitely recommend!!
