my apt is soo cute that’s literally the only reason why i put up with the poor service. it’s been issues since i moved in apartment not ready…waited another two weeks only for it to still not be ready, and i had to end up cleaning it myself. i do not have a problem with pest bc i use the home defense from lowe’s. maintenance just sucks my dishwasher still doesn’t work without leaking. toilet gets clogged often. the garage remote breaks every month i literally haven’t been able to access my garage a full month since i moved in. oh yeah and one day while i was home in the bath i hear a loud pop…now i’m a veteran so i know it’s a gun. im like what the heck i don’t see anything call 911 and they said it’s been reported. i go to leave my apt and by my front door there’s a bullet from one wall to another. still hasn’t been patched up. the smell of weed from the neighbors make me nausea it’s ridiculous. i love the wildewood community and that’s the only reason i put up with this foolishness. if i didn’t need to be in this area i would’ve moved u til i brought a home bc this the worse. and no one ever knows what’s going on. and the gate remote doesn't work, i was told just open it by calling your number i don’t want to do that. i want it to work the way it’s suppose to.
Latest Update 09/27/2024: Can’t access gate into apartment.
Remotes do not work, so i’m told to call the four digit number guess what doesn’t work get a key fob that doesn’t. Then they like to explain why it isn’t working and how they tried to explained ma'am, after months of things not working and such a terrible experience i’m trying my best to not lose my patience please stop making excuses and just fix it. Or at the least stop talking about it it’s annoying. Customer service sucks why are you going back and forth after i have said okay so no resolution months later.

Too expensive for the quality of living. Things break with regularity such as the AC, dishwasher, and outlets. There are roaches everywhere despite being charged for an “extermination fee” every month. Our unit was not clean upon move in. The office rarely answers the phone, and the valet trash service is inconsistent to say the least. Aside from that maintenance has been pretty efficient and the location is decent.
Including monthly fees, rent comes out to roughly 2000$ a month for a two bedroom unit. Not by any means the worst place to live in Columbia but you can easily find similar quality for a notably cheaper cost. After years in poorly-managed, often predatory, off campus housing, vantage seemed like a significant step up, but it’s really not much different, just a step up in price.

I came for a tour and felt so welcomed! Irene was very helpful and Shanna gave one of best tours I’ve experienced in Columbia, thus far. They stated they’re new to the property; whoever hired them did a great thing! Look out for my application!

Irene and her staff were extremely helpful and inviting. I came in close to close of business and was still given A1 treatment. All of my questions were answered and I was given a tour.

There are no words to describe this abysmal horrid place! The absolute worst. Currently in litigation with these crooks! Several of us former tenants are still trying to get this place condemned! Hard working military veterans DO NO DESERVE to be treated like animals! Shame of all management!!! Pictures have been published. Water pipe exploded Christmas Day! Never fixed it, ruined my children’s gifts. Total lost to furniture! VANTAGE OF WILDEWOOD is now saying I’m at fault. My family was at Disney World when this happened to 4 other apartments in the building!! Mold and bugs everywhere! Lived in an hotel for 2 weeks!! No water, no air in the apartment. All my neighbors moved due to lack of Air/ clean water! Side note: DID I MENTION I HAD TO BUY A TOILET? no one came to fix it so I hired my own contractor! Ridiculous!! See photos!!

If I could give it a 0 I would. Do not move here! Living at Vantage at Wildewood was an absolute nightmare. Over the three years we stayed, the place just kept going downhill. They changed staff over six times, and no one seemed to care. Trash is left outside for days, even though they charge a monthly "trash pick-up" fee. The AC constantly broke down, causing leaks that damaged the flooring, and despite countless work orders, they never fixed it.
The gates are a disaster—one is almost always broken, and right now, it’s the exit gate. It’s dangerous because cars speed in while you’re trying to drive out. The car wash station is always broken and filled with trash. The playground is dirty and nothing like the pictures they advertise. Dog poop is everywhere, and they don’t enforce clean-up.
The bathrooms have mold, so make sure to check under the sinks. The office staff has the worst attitudes. During our final walk-through, we had to wait 30 minutes outside the apartment even though they said we didn’t need to be there—but you can’t trust them. The trash compactor overflows every weekend, and we get passive-aggressive emails blaming the community. Packages get stolen from the broken lockers, and the staff doesn’t care at all.
The complex is becoming unsafe too, with people walking around cars at night, making it feel sketchy. If you’re military, stay away. There are much better places closer to base. This place needs to be blacklisted. It’s overpriced with hidden fees. They ignore complaints about neighbors smoking inside. Save yourself the hassle and find somewhere else to live. This place is a complete nightmare!

Do not do it. Overall I give it a 4/10. It’s quiet & that is the only plus. The apartments are old and ragged, even the renovated units still look old and poorly renovated. I have been without A/C in my unit for 3 weeks, everytime I call I’m told we’re waiting on a A/C unit, my apartment reaches 90 degrees on a good day. It is not worth the money. My children & I have to cram together in one room to stay cool we even got a hotel room for a few days because it’s that ridiculous. Ultimately it’s outdated, the office staff is fine I don’t care for them one way or the other they just act as if they have a job to do & that it & that’s fine with me but it is not worth the money, go somewhere else. The gates are always broken pool area always dirty the amenities are trash amenities lol it’s just overall ghetto lol. Only thing I can give it the only thing at all is it is QUIET. UPDATE: they came to fix it yesterday after being out for 6 weeks and in less than 24 hours it has frozen over and apparently broken again. Also, in my laundry room the other day and the attic completely fell on top of my head. This place is a complete disaster, worst living nightmare.

I was supposed to move in 04/15/2024 these people notified me a week before move in date that the unit I wanted would not be ready. I was understandable and asked could I keep the unit and just move my move in date to the end of month and repetitive asked for confirmation would it be ready by then they assured me. Fast forward to 04/28/2024 I get a text/call saying the unit I wanted would not be ready and instead they gave me another unit 2 DAYS BEFORE MOVE IN however, I was unsatisfied and requested for a refund hence I did NOT sign a lease I’ve given these people a sum of $1925 and that’s w/o the admin fee and application fee. Their corporate office has agree to send me my funds back and I have yet to receive anything back yet. Yes it’s beautiful from the outside but the way the office has been conducting business has been very sloppy from teams members telling false information and not doing their jobs professionally to others actually being professionals. Rent at your own risk.

This apartment is very unorganized and awful to live in. The leasing office gives you answers just to get you out of the office, and they only tend to favor the remodeled apartments. The West Shore organization is difficult to contact to discuss concerns.
While living here, my refrigerator broke for two weeks with no accommodations. Our air conditioning was broken for two months with no accommodations made until we constantly went to the office. We had to constantly deal with gnats and spider. Additionally, we had a leak in our kitchen. The leasing staff does not know how to handle situations and fails to provide updates. We attempted to email and contact the supervisor, but she has not responded to our last four emails.
This site and its staff are very unprofessional and do not care.

Do not move here.
1. They lost almost half of my security deposit and just shrugged it off saying it was my problem! Then to show things were on the up and up. They printed out some of the worst book keeping I've ever seen, and I have book balanced for a half blind ADHD Architect.
2. The owning corporation will not hire enough maintenance to fix issues. After reporting my AC didn't work an email came out the following week crying poverty on only being able to afford a single maintenance worker that can work on Air conditioning units. If you're looking at this place you have seen what they're charging and you know they can afford to fix things.
3. My air conditioning hasn't worked since mid April, it is currently the start of June, and I'm suspecting they wont fix it until my lease is up in July.
4. One of the gates is almost always broken. Currently it's the exit gate, leading to people speeding in while you try to drive out.
5. I have had my fire extinguisher, which was expired by several months when I moved in and half caked in paint, sitting out my door for so many weeks I've lost count. Bc somehow no one knows how to make a single bulk at this place.
6. Many of my outlets are so weak you can't keep things in them.
7. I hadn't been informed when maintenance was being performed on my pipes and it resulted in a foul oder and taste in my water for about a month.
8. Maintenance is severely understaffed and under funded. So in order for my cat to not be able to escape through my sliding screen door. I had to work with maintenance to fabricate a locking mechanism that would be compatible with my sliding door, as it seems too much to allow maintenance to order matching locks for the door and door frame.
9. The trash compactor over flows every weekend and it is always accompanied by a passage aggressive email chastising the community as if the community doesn't know how to put trash into a dumpster. The two things left out are that the instructions on the compactor do not match the unit that is present and It requires a key to activate in the key is often locked away from residents access. So of course it's going to pile up when maintenance can't come out and regularly turn it on.
10. When I moved in, with a month of deadline, the paint inside had been so fresh- and obviously without primer- that the apartment stunk of fumes and a finger print could have left a mark behind.
11. The only place I have found myself lucky is that I'm one of very few units not dealing with a constant flow of creeping crawling pests.
12. No emergency services have a code to get in the gate. So if you live by yourself you have to hope that there is a kind enough resident that will step out and open up the gates. Whenever they are all functioning. Even with the exit broken, I have never seen an emergency vehicle would use it to get in. They instead will sit blasting their horns to be let inside. My roommate's life was put at risk because of this.
Do not move here.
