Currently moving from a different town to Columbia,SC I heard Sunshine House is the best daycare in Columbia but currently I can’t afford it realistically with the price of rent , abc voucher only pays a certain amount and most parents are a single parent house hold i would love for my child to attend but it’s expensive $320 is a lot for one week. I spoke with Ms.Tori and she’s very nice and answer each question I needed answered so if you do decide to let your child go there please ask for her she was a great help. But otherwise they need to lower the price

I understand why the reviews here are so bad. I interviewed at this place about a month ago. Whoever was interviewing me didn’t have a good presence at all. If you’re interviewing someone, at least act like you want to do it. As soon as the interview started, I already knew I didn’t want to work there. I was just ready for it to be over with. I’m a very bubbly person and while I don’t expect for everyone to be that way, have the decency to ACT like you want to attend the interview. She seemed like she didn’t want to do it and that was enough for me. No, this isn’t a review just because I didn’t get the job..I’m simply speaking on my experience. Especially with you working in a daycare..do better.

New director is so incredibly inconsiderate they changed pick up times and fined me and denied my child to school until a 40 unfair fine is paid.. over half of the time they don’t have staff to cover the students constantly closing the school due to lack of coverage. Choose anywhere but here thank God my child goes to school next year.

Don’t even waste your breath talking to these money grubbing liars. My husband just called and was told something completely different from one of their other staff members. I was told that we would be guaranteed a spot in January if we paid the $100 while he was just told that it wasn’t guaranteed nor was there availability.I’ve reached out to dozens of daycares and most had the decency to say they didn’t have availability for when it was needed. Instead of giving my family that courtesy, they gave us the false hope in believing that our child would have a daycare to attend on top of trying to take $100 for absolutely no reason at all. It is so easy to see if you have availability or not, unless you have no grasp of the children in your care’s birthdays and/ or your waitlist. I would highly consider fixing yourselves before this becomes a larger issue for your company.

I called to inquire about any possible openings for my 2 year old daughter. I have been in communication with Brittany at the Decker location. My daughter is on the waitlist there but she suggested I call this location and ask for Heather as well just to check and see because each location operates individually. I called and asked for Heather but Rachel answered and said she was the assistant director and could possibly help me. I let her know I was calling for an opening for my daughter before I could finish letting her know the situation she cut me off and said no we won’t have any openings until the fall. I had to ask if there is a waitlist and she said yes but it was pretty extensive. After a second or so then she asks well would you like to get added. Very monotone and uninterested. I kindly declined, thanked her and ended the call. It’s very disheartening enough when you’re a single parent trying to find care during this time with little to no availability but then to have encounters with staff members who seem to have little to no interest to help is upsetting. Columbia is a military city (families will come and go) regardless of what capacity your facility is at it doesn’t hurt to give the benefit of the doubt or extend some grace and say yes there’s a waitlist, it is a little long however we can add your daughter until we get an opening or you hear from somewhere else.

If I could give this daycare a 0 I would ! The whole daycare is trash. The kids not allowed to wear cute sandals or crocs only tennis shoes, and that doesn’t include boots. The biggest problem I have is my child not eating at all ! I have to get up an hour early to make sure he have something on his stomach before he gets there. They don’t allow outside food and they don’t care about the child eating ! Then knowing my child don’t eat they wonder why he’s a little upset . He’s hungry ! Then you have the teachers in the class telling you one thing and writing down another . Save yourself the time and the money. They don’t care about the kids, only the funds they are receiving from the child. The director don’t address anything . I explained to her that the teachers was telling me how good he doing, and that actually started drinking the milk and eating some , and she says that’s not what writing down. I ask to have a meeting with her and the teachers and nothing was done. I won’t rest until the issue is resolved and I promise to get the news and everyone else involved ! They told me my child can only come there from 7am- 11am. Mind you we discussed it today and they said his new schedule start Monday. Not even caring about my schedule or anything. That’s a waste of time. My child don’t eat the food, he scoot the plate back. He don’t throw the food or kick or anything else. He literally just scoot the plate back. He takes his nap with no problem. He doesn’t cry at check in. They are lazy and want kids that are easy.

Probably one of the most unorganized day cares I’ve ever experienced, since my son started going here they have been multiple staff ,seems like they will hire anyone. They are not good with special needs children so don’t waste you time and it’s hard to get a clear answer from anyone. Nobody knows what’s going on , now I have to reach out to the regional director. They just need to shut this down. And that’s not even the worst of it . I miss when Mrs Brandy was working here , come back !

Avoid this daycare at all costs!! I took my child there today for her first day and everything seemed unorganized. They didn’t have her name down as a student in the class, the app they advertised in the enrollment packet to be able to see your child in real time is non existent, the phone lines were down for over a week, and I wasn’t able to sign her in/out. The director told me she would sign her in. It felt like I was just leaving my child there with no record of her being there. When it comes to my child, I’m over protective and her safety comes first.

Avoid this place!!!!!If your child is over the age of 1 do not bring them to this facility. Since my son has turned 1 there have been accidents with my child every other day and half of them were not reported. He just came home with injuries. Recently my son came home with a huge bleeding scar on his eye and when I asked what happened, they told me that he tripped over a blanket while running and hit his eye on a cot! Why are cots still out after nap time? Now I know kids that can walk will have injuries however “Brandy” the director blamed this injury on my son being active. She was rude and unprofessional and did not care about the seriousness of his injury because he could’ve lost an eye thanks to their workers not being trained appropriately. They have 20 kids in the room with two teachers.(Let that sink in!) They owe us $340 currently because we switched daycares and we have not seen this refund yet! It’s been over a week! They are also not making their workers wear mask during this pandemic. I am so disgusted with this company and highly recommend you find somewhere safe for your babies to be because this place is not it! Good Luck...

Words cannot express the thanks that my family has for each and every teacher and staff person that has been a part of our family for almost six years. We enrolled at The Sunshine House in 2013 with my oldest son and my youngest son started attending in 2016. Since then they have grown and matured into amazing, intelligent young men.As a parent, I entrust my greatest blessing to the staff at The Sunshine House every day, and I am beyond grateful for the loving care and guidance offered. We thank everyone again at The Sunshine House for the memories and taking care of our children.~Veronica~

Staff is extremely friendly and the director is awesome. My son absolutely loves it here and they helped me out immensely with a very difficult time in my life. Highly recommend
