Stay away! Took our 2016 Jetta in for the fuel rail recall and left extremely disappointed. Less than 5' after leaving the dealership, we had to pull over due to sluggish acceleration and engine vibrations. Checking the engine bay, we quickly realized they didn't reconnect 3 parts. Left us wondering what else they only did halfway... After calling to let them know what happened, Brandon seemed very unconcerned and offered us 10% off a service (more on that below). About 2 hours after dropping the car off, we get a phone call with all of the "recommended services" from their inspection. They claimed the front control arms were severely damaged and that the brakes were borderline unsafe to drive with. Both statements are wildly untrue (front control arms bushings have normal wear and brakes have thousands of miles left), yet they were going to charge 3k+ for these services. Overall extremely disappointing experience.

BEWARE - if we could give them a zero rating - we would. We lost the key to our 2000 Volkswagen. We called parts to see if we could get another - they said yes, and we ordered two. The keys come back and we picked them up. We try to start the car and we get a code - the code indicates that the key is not programmed (well, wasn't that the whole purpose for the order). We call backed and was told by a service manager tells us that the car has to be towed there to program the key (why this wasn't mentioned when we placed the order, we don't know). We have the car towed there and then we're told that due to the year of the car, they can't guarantee that it will work - only for cars less than ten years old. We asked to speak with the GM - there is none. We asked to speak with the highest level supervisor (he's who we are talking to on the phone). He tells us that parts isn't aware of this, they just process requests. As for the service guy that we spoke with, he said that he must not have realized the year of the car (even though we told him that the service guy pulled up the purchase in the system while we were on the phone with him and he told us we would have to have the car towed there). We then asked for reimbursement for the purchase of the two keys ordered due to his staff's ineptness (both the parts guy and the service guy). He refused to accept ANY responsibility for his staff. Now we are out $150 for two useless keys and $75 for a tow because of them and that's just the beginning. Now we have to get a company to key it - another $400 for keys and to clear out the code that came up using their wrong keys! Shame on you Midlands Volkswagen for us having to pay extra for your lack of training and poor customer service. Stay far away from these guys if you need help!

On Friday the 22nd I went to Midlands VW of Columbia for my scheduled appointment to have my oil changed. After waiting 90 minutes, I paid and left to run a few errands before returning home. Just after pulling into my development, I get an alarm and RED warning lights on my dash stating there was a lack of engine oil pressure. Thankfully I was in my driveway as these alarms came on. I put the car in park immediately, got out, opened the hood and checked the dipstick. Bone dry. I got down on my belly to look under the car and saw OIL ALL OVER THE BOTTOM OF MY CAR, STILL DRIPPING AT MULTIPLE POINTS ON THE UNDERCARRIAGE. I was very concerned because I had driven 23+ miles with this issue, unknowingly. I never thought I would have to check the work of the certified VW maintenance department. I called Midlands VW and after being put on hold, then called back, I was told that a tech was on their way to my house to correct whatever was missed the first time. When the tech arrived, I watched them from start to finish asking HOW this happened. I also had to provide a container to catch what little oil remained so I wouldn't get MORE oil on my driveway. When we got to the filter itself I asked if the old gasket was taken off or if the new gasket was pinched and if I could see the gaskets myself to see the problem. The tech couldn't show me either because THERE WAS NO GASKET put on the filter when it was replaced and put back together. He finished and I called the service department to tell them that I wanted them to take the weekend to think about how they intended to correct this debacle cause by their negligence and also inform them that I would be coming in to have them clean the oil off the undercarriage. When I came in the next week I learned that the tech that came to my house lied to the manager and said that the gasket was there, just slightly over tightened and pinched...making it sound less negligent on their behalf, despite him not being able to SHOW ME when he was actually replacing the filter/oil. After waiting 2 hours in the shop, I was told that they cleaned the oil off the bottom of my car and cleared the code on my vehicle for the no engine oil pressure. In their opinion, my vehicle was operating normally. I asked them to kindly extend my warranty to cover for their negligence and they declined. I left the VW certified service station with nothing to help me with any future issues that could come up due to the excessive wear and tear they caused my engine. I wasn't offered an apology. The manager didn't even ask if I was satisfied. He just handed me my papers showing that they cleared the code, a handful of "we won't do that's" and was left to leave the shop as an extremely disappointed and saddened lifelong VW customer. Everything above is stated from a factual standpoint and I challenge Midlands VW to dispute anything above. I've owned 4 VWs over the past 23 years and I have fallen in love with this brand. I'm intensely loyal because of how much I loved every VW that I've owned. However, I will get rid of this car as soon as I can to avoid this service shop and I won't buy another VW until I move to a location with a more trustworthy and customer friendly experience. AVOID this place of business AT ALL COSTS.

Wish I could give a zero. I just bought a brand new vehicle and took it in for the very first service and they damaged my door. Put a large dent in the side and would not own up to it.

Bait and switch, sold us one car which had problems 12 hours after we took it home, told us they couldn't fix it and offered us a second car which they sold, before our appointment to look at it. Tried to sell us a third car which was in their service department and hadnt even passed inspection which we didn't want, didn't want to return our trade in vehicle or our cash deposit. Told us they never actually put the paperwork through on the first car we bought, sent a rejection letter from their finance department weeks after we had purchased a car elsewhere, totally unprofessional. Repeatedly asked us to take down a bad review we left them, asked me why i was feeding my infant child *fake milk* (formula) in the dealership, would NEVER recommend these people. They give car salesmen a bad name.

They swapped the position of my tires. My front tires were in the back and the back in the front. Really unnecessary. Now the ones with less tread are in the front and I'll have to take it somewhere to change them back. Also, waiting area only had coffee and no water. The last thing is that my consultant left and the one that stayed said my car was ready for a while and nobody had called me.

The customer service is not the best, VW is reliable on its own without the sales representatives. Their turnover is always very high. I am grateful for my experience, but will not be purchasing from them again.

Our 2019 Atlas has had a check engine light come on 5 times since December 2021 leading to 7 trips to service. The first 6 times it was "fixed"....not! This last time they have had our car for two weeks (and counting) each time it was scheduled to be completed they would call the day before to push it back 3-5 days. We have a loaner that reeks of cigarette smoke and it covered with stickers. Once the warranty is up on this car, if we ever see it again, we will not be back.

My daughter brought her car in for maintenance. We had two tires replaced, rotated, balanced, battery replaced, and had all fluids checked. After the car was completed, my daughter went to go pick it up and it was a dirty, muddy, mess. They did not clean the car after service and apparently they stated that there was construction in the area. She went back in and complained and they promised to give her a complimentary detailing inside and out at her earliest convenience. Well even before she got home, she noticed the tire pressure light was on and there was an air duct vent laying on the passenger side floor. I called the dealer back and highlighted these issues and asked about how they could turn a car back over to a customer in that condition. Long story short, she bad to being the car back in to get the issues resolved and then the following day when she called to bring the car back in for detailing, they said that since the washed the car that was no longer necessary. After arginine that the free detailing was given due to the condition the car was turned over and also highlighted the inconvenience of having to go back in to address the air vent and tire pressure light, they agreed. It only gets worse from here..... when she went back to pick up the car from detailing, she noticed the windshield was cracked. About a 14" crack going across the windshield. The dealership was claiming no responsibility for the crack and stated it must have been there before. After calling back and arginine with the service manager and sending him pictures of the card before and after he highlighted that his camera footage showed no evidence that they cracked the windshield. So somehow it happened by itself "due to heat". I would never go back to this dealership again for service. Poor customer service. And very frustrating that a business could operate this way. I have never had this type of experience with any other VW dealership.

I don't believe that VW has that terrible service. Advisor was Barry, I told them that my transmission has leakage, give me quote to fix it. Then one technical person called me to show same leak which I have seen before. They did visual inspection, and they charged me $167 for that visual inspection which I have done before going there. In addition, their technical guy said me that my car has DSG transmission, I said no it is normal automatic, then when they check by VIN number, they have seen that it is not DSG. They cannot even identify type of transmission. I have never seen that ridiculous service in my life.
