To all my renters if your looking to move into an amazing and beautiful place then come to the heron lakes apartment… When I said Johnathan is a great manager he will definitely go above and beyond helping u to secure a safe and luxurious home here at the heron lake … He is the overall best guy to work with … He’s very knowledgeable and there to answer any questions and concerns you may have … So with that said please call my guy Johnathan at the heron lake’s apartments I promise u will not regret it … So please head on out to the lakes and give Johnathan your time when securing a home .

I really wanted to like this place but after too many instances I wanted to give a sincere heads up to people looking at these apartments as these reviews do not reflect the actuality of this place. It was our second choice, our first being Canal Side Lofts but they wouldn’t accept the breed of our dog. The Heron Lake site looked nice enough, and due to us being overseas with a short time window to have a place we couldn’t tour the facility so we decided to trust the pictures we saw and applied, getting accepted and putting our first months rent down. When we first came a week before move in to get a tour, they explained to us that our unit wasn’t ready, so they handed us a key and we saw the model apartment instead which looked nice enough. We decided to walk up to where our unit was though and instantly got a huge whif of marijuana all throughout the floor. Nevertheless, we decided to over look it and even changed our lease from a 3 month to a year lease due to the appearance of the model apartment and what was going on in our lives, not wanting to throw moving again in a couple of months on top of it. Since being there I was pretty disappointed and sad that we changed our mind with the short term lease. First off, the traffic here was horrendous. They have nonstop construction going on at the intersection towards the freeways that produced traffic at all times of the day, a huge inconvenience that can really add on time when going/getting off of work. Secondly we couldn’t use the amenities advertised that we paid for, I never saw a “sand volleyball court” they talked about and the pool is closed supposedly until the end of May or so they say but who knows. With the apartment itself, the walls are super thin, I could hear music blasting at 2 am on a Tuesday when I had to get up for work in 3 hours. Someone had just vacated the apartment before we moved in, so upon move in our lock didn’t work for our second key and the working key we had would get stuck, having to hold it down and open it, on top of scratched countertops, paint, dings etc., but at the end of the day these minor apartment dings didn’t bother us too much, we just made note of it so that they wouldn’t try and charge us upon move out. We had spent a total of $50 on air fresheners for our place to no avail as every time we walked in we would get a huge whif of marijuana, which I really don’t care what people do in their personal time, but it’s not something I want to smell every time I come home. Lastly, as my wife would walk to her car she would be cat called by tenants on multiple occasions, so I didn’t feel comfortable with her walking around without me unless with our dog. We overheard our neighbor explaining to the maintenance man that their car had been broken into for the second time with all of their stuff stolen, on top of hearing from our other neighbor there was a shooting around there the last year.....so you can make your own assessment. I’m giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 only because the maintenance had been very responsive since there were a few things that needed to be fixed when we first moved in and the woman who worked with us at move in, Colleen the assistant manager, was very professional and our interactions with the office women have been very nice. I’d get it if the rent was significantly lower, but for the $1670 we paid for a 2 bedroom on the top floor ($20 additional for our dog), this place is very much not worth it. If I had to do it over I would not have moved in here and was eager to finally leave.

It’s extremely hard to reach anyone in the office because they don’t answer phones , poor communication staff acts as if they don’t want to be there

Nice apartment complex. Pet friendly. Quiet and roomy. Pool is open during warmer months. Fitness center is convenient. The walls are thin though. You can literally hear when the toilet flushes in the other apartments.

Previous Review: Todays tour with Mr. Anthony was super dope! I’ve been apartment hunting for weeks and today was the first I felt welcomed by Anthony ONLY! The other ladies in the office were not helpful at all. Anyway the property tour was pleasant, I enjoy the conversation and knowledge about the property that was given! Ohh and my niece was full of the refreshments offered! The apartment was just was I was looking for! If I had any concerns about the apartment viewed, Mr. Anthony was sure to make me feel confident that my needs will be taken care of! I look forward to the words being proven!
Update Review…Fast forward: Words have not been proven. Office is clearly out of whack and lack communication amongst each other. I literally was suppose to move a week from today, everything packed and the apartment is not available! I feel as if I was lord to and played just to get another signature. Thankfully, I read before signing! Pay attention! Only reason they get 2 stars is because they said they would refund application and admin fees!

Anthony did an amazing job during my tour! He was very detailed and prompt! He was conversational and made the whole community here at Heron Lakes feel welcoming!
His detailed tour is one of the reasons I am moving in!

I just had a tour with Anthony here and let me say, it was amazing!! He was very informative about everything and answered all of my questions efficiently and patiently! Not to mention how kind and charismatic he was! We had a lovely chat the whole time and he really seemed to care about all I had to say. Not to mention that the room was exactly what I was looking for, and it made it even better to have such an amazing tour! I really loved the bedrooms, they’re the perfect size and the hardwood flooring fits it all perfectly. I definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a nice, quiet kind of area with nice people! And we’ll done, Anthony!

I had a very great experience viewing this property with Mr.Anthony!!! made my experience 100 times better. Made sure I understood everything , went over everything with me. And answered any questions that i needed to be answered!! & THE PROPERTY??? amazing! If you are looking forward to moving into this property i definitely recommend. Make sure you speak with Mr.Anthony! he would definitely make your experience the best.

I toured the property on yesterday with Anthony. WHAT AN AMAZING TOUR! He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the property. He made me feel like this was my home already and offered many helpful tips. I was not familiar with Heron Lake and decided to take a tour after searching for other places on line. Heron Lake is definitely on the top of my list thanks to Anthony. GREAT JOB SIR!

I am currently seeking a new place to call home and Anthony made me feel just that, at HOME! He took me around the property on a grand tour, showed off the highlights/perks of becoming a resident at Heron Lake. Anthony even gave kudos to the property by labeling it as a 8 to 9 star establishment and most definitely lives up to just that!I plan to call Heron Lake home sweet home by 2024 - Thank you Anthony for making my first visit a pleasant experience.
