TLDR: Lied about services rendered, tried to charge me for it, and changed something that wasn't the problem. Here is some background so that anyone reading can understand how pissed off I am. I replaced my starter due to an oil leak that killed the starter. I usually do my own work on my truck, but I had to bite the bullet and pay for someone else to fix the leak since I ran out of time to fix it. Once I was able to replace the starter to move my truck, I drove it to Firestone. I got a call back and was told that the valve cover gasket was the source of the leak. This was expected based on the location of the leak in relation to the starter. Honestly, this was good news to me because I've changed them before (an easy fix), but doing it on a truck is a pain on a V8 since the cylinder heads are angled off to the sides instead of being directly on top of the engine. They also told me that the oil pan gasket was leaking. I agreed to the quote that they had given me of $1380. The issue began when I was given a timeline of the next day before close of business. I received no updates on the progress of the vehicle as well as no notice of going over on time. Once I was told it was ready (another day after), I went in to pick up and was met with an additional charge of give or take $300 for services not agreed upon (or notified of). I was told that the coolant and freon needed to be flushed since the systems needed to be taken out for the work to be done. That was a lie since you have enough clearance to get everything out without major adjustments. They even invoiced me for an oil filter and didn't even replace the filter. I change my own oil so I know exactly what filter was on there because I recently changed the oil. And last I checked, Firestone swaps filters with their brand of filters, so yet another lie. I essentially told them that I didn't agree to anything outside of what I was quoted for. If they had already quoted me for everything, I wouldn't have known about the dishonesty. I wouldn't have even had a problem with paying if it was the expected number. And after I had left, I noticed that they had charged for the other valve cover gasket, so I was essentially double charged for an additional gasket that wasn't even the problem. I COMPLETELY understand that things can go wrong during repairs, BUT if anything goes outside the scope of work the customer should always be contacted. And it would also help to not lie about the scope of work to begin with. If I could give negative stars I would. I'll just start going to somewhere else for emergency fixes. I'm too busy to have to double-check after dishonest people.Edit: I drove my truck this morning and it misfires now. Too bad people can't comment on reviews. It would really help the honest mechanics promote themselves.

I came to get four new tires and an alignment. When I went to pull off after my service my breaks were no longer working literally the pedal went to the floor. I let them know and immediately he stated it was messed up when I came in which is not true my breaks were fine. After 30 min of back and forth and me asking for a store manager to be called the fixed the break and another customer came to say they never rotated his tires. The man in the front was not a representation for the company and placed blame and kept saying “well we bout to close I just work in the front. He was unprofessional and rude I paid for the lifetime alignment and would never return to this store.

I don't know why I keep coming to this shop, maybe its because I keep hoping that I could get the same level of good service like the Firestone on Gervais St. Anyway, here is my upsetting visit regarding service on my vehicle at the Sam's Crossing location.Firestone fixed an issue with my vehicle a couple of years ago..I came in and explained the situation to one of the managers and he said that he saw in the system that it was worked on in that time frame...he said that the worker that could fix the problem was not there, and I was told to bring it back in a couple of days because that's when the worker will be in that could fix the problem. So when I returned to have the problem fixed there was a different person checking customers in and when I explained the situation to him, he said that "he didn't see where it was worked on in the specified time frame to be covered by the warranty". Big surprise...right? It just mysteriously disappeared within a couple of days. I hate being a single female going to an auto repair shop because alot of shops will find a million things wrong with the vehicle knowing that we don't know anything about auto repairs and they take that as an opportunity to upsell services that we don't need. Anyway since he "didn't see it in the system, I had to pay full price for the repairs", because it was past the warranty. So I asked him why did the other guy see that it was within the warranty date and he didn't?I hate not knowing anything about car repairs and being at the mercy of mechanics not knowing if whether they are being honest or upcharging you because they know that you don't know any better.

Got a flat on my way to my parents, called them and they said they would be more than happy to help. They were able to get me a new tire and were even nice enough to put my spare back under my truck. Great and fast service

In Cola visiting my daughter at USC and ended up with a flat tire. Elbert Turner so graciously took me in 30 minutes before closing to get a new tire before I headed back to Summerville. Wonderful service with a smile even late at night!

I got a diagnostics on my car due to my hood smoking but not over heating. They told me it was because I had an oil leak (which I know about already) and the oil was dripping on my exhaust causing it to smoke. I heard the dripping once I got home and the sound of it sizzling. Once I peaked my head under and felt the liquid it was definitely not oil it was coolant. so I did some checking myself turns out my heater hose was leaking. I got a second opinion because I’m not a mechanic but turns out I was right. so I was charged 111 dollars for them to not actually check what I needed checked. I was also charged 90 dollars for them to clear a code that was not discussed with me first out of all things was definitely least important on my list to fix and could of got it done cheaper elsewhere.

9/4, Took my car into Firestone for a oil change and tire rotation. After I drove for a little while the car was shaking. So I call and schedule a follow-up 10/3, thought the tire was not secure. They looked at it and all of a sudden a valve cover gasket is leaking. They did not see that when they did the oil change so they messed it up and now it's my problem. They messed up the oil gasket seal and now telling me I need to replace it. I had a oil change at Take5 and not once did they say the the seal was bad. I'm so tired of Firestone trying to rip me off. Good help is so hard to find, and it's certainly not at Firestone. So I'm to pay 400.00 for something they messed up.

Vehicle was there for 3 days with no resolution to mushy brakes. Manager states system was bled, but there's probably something else going on with the brake system. You think??? This was my reason for bringing the vehicle in. My daughter will be driving this car when she gets her license soon and I need it to be safe for her. I will not be returning to any Firestone and will be taking my business to a reputable automobile repair shop. Please avoid this Firestone location.Service: Brake service & repair

Went to get a oil change and was told I need air filters, after I was quoted a crazy price I was told they was instock, I agreed then quickly changed my mind I was told they waste oil on the old ones and it was to late, then I had to wait 1hour for someone to bring the filters that was supposed to be instock. They charge $150 for a $20 filter. Worst place every they lie and cheat you.Service: Oil change

Don't take your car here... they are going to waist your time and try to overcharge you.... Took my car here for some break work. They "couldn't get the lug nuts off" and said it'll be extra 80 to break them off and replace the ones that needed replacing. Didnt sound right, so I said ill get them off and bring it back. Got a whole new set of lug nuts, for under $50 might I add, took them off myself and took it back up there. It was only two that gave me trouble, really!? Get back there bright and early before the doors opened, first in line, for them to tell me it'll be a 2hr wait before being seen, so I asked could I make an appointment and he said it'll still be a 2hr wait before being seen even with an appointment. Checking the reviews before going would of saved me my time and the headache. They have the worst reviews and I see why.

This only has 1 star because google FORCES you to put a star before making a review. Anyways, I brought my car in so they could check for a screeching sound I was hearing in my driver side wheel that only occurs when going above 40-45 mph. They had me wait over an hour and a half just to tell me they didn't hear anything (this sound can only be heard when the windows are down which I informed them of) when I got into the car to drive and test it myself it was screaming like a banchee when I got to the previously mentioned speeds. The technician I was in communication with (Orlando) kept insisting that I just need to get my transmission worked on or just trash the vehicle.. whole time this shop doesn't even deal with transmission so the input I received on that went in one ear and out the other. I have a completely different place I go to that works on my transmission. The transmission has NOTHING to do with the sound I was hearing, this is painfully obvious if they actually treated the car with care.In all honesty I don't even think any of them took it for a drive because they kept talking about transmission so they probably WRONGFULLY thought the transmission would go out and were too afraid to tell me this to my face. (The transmission slips if you step on the gas with a heavy foot. Drive like a sensible person and it won't slip.). With this being said I am LESS than pleased with the service I received. At the very least I feel like I deserved a better explanation but instead I was rushed and treated like my car wasn't good enough to be worked on. It's an old car (07), it has dents and an occasionally slipping transmission but has still gotten me from here to New York and back with no problems?? Lol.So if someone comes in with money requesting a service that is well within your job description, why not do it? Why insist that it's something completely unrelated after a customer informed you of the issue? This to me is very unprofessional. This shop needs to learn integrity. Orlando the technician I was communicating with is a decent guy, nothing too bad to say about him personality wise but at the end of the day it's a place of business. GIVE THE CUSTOMER a service that they requested so they can get on their way. Don't bombard them with your offbased OPINIONS when no one asked you. DO YOUR JOB
