We've been taking our 15 year old to Banfield since she was 8 WEEKS old.The Banfield pet insurance has saved us SO much money over the years! I wouldn't think of taking our baby anywhere else!!

Excellent staff. Great people. I had kind of an urgent visit this past weekend. My Yorkie has diabetes and is on insulin twice a day. My regular vet does not have weekend hours and I stupidly forgot to refill her insulin prescription before it ran out, so I was not going to get through the weekend. Lets just say that a weekend visit to other unnamed clinics was going to be very expensive, ($120 just for the office visit). Not only did Banfield work us in, but since my fur baby was a new patient they were kind enough to tell me to go online and sign up to get a new patient free office visit coupon. Excellent customer service. Would definitely go here if I didn't already have a vet.

I understand that veterinarians receive a bad rap sometimes because people don't put them in the same category as regular physicians and forget that they have a schedule to follow just like my family doctor. My fur babies are always very well taken care of here and I know if they can't get one of them in for a last minute appointment it's because they have looked at the scheduling options for that day and have been given the option for peace of mind to bring my pet in and be looked at by a nurse to make sure I am not just overreacting (it happens). Never have I gotten upset about this because there are animal ER options and yes I know they are a little more costly and a possible long wait but it's there, just like human ERs. But if I want my dog to get better and not wait until it gets worse I make that decision for them. That is the responsibility I took on when I CHOSE to become a pet owner, after all they get sick just like my human children do and I want the best care for them. The staff at this location is always friendly and very knowledgeable. The wellness plans I have from them helps too because I continually get notified when my pets are due for things and the Banfield app is a life saver for vaccine history when they have to be boarded. I know all FOUR of my 4 legged family members receive the best care when they are there and I trust them in their very capable and caring hands. Keep up the great work!!

I took my two puppies to Columbia Garner’s Ferry Banfield this morning. One, a 7 month old recent shelter rescue, was there for her first vet visit ever. The other, a 1.5 year old pup, was there for the first time at Banfield. Both are around 50 lbs.We were never taken to an exam room. I sat on a bench in the PetSmart with two incredibly over-stimulated 50 lb puppies for over an hour. They were taken back individually for shots and tests, which amounted to maybe 10 minutes each.We were never seen by a vet. The only interactions my pups had were with the receptionists (excellent) and a vet tech who couldn’t manage to give an oral vaccine or scan for a microchip for one puppy. To clarify, the recent shelter adoptee was never seen by a vet.A vet never even spoke to me. I have no idea about the health of my dogs because the vet tech simply left the rabies tag and pills on the bench beside me in the store and said the fecal tests were negative. I got no information about the blood work. I got no information about vaccine side effects. I got no information about the physical health of the shelter pup or my older pup.Meanwhile, an exam room sat visibly empty while my incredibly stressed older dog was left to howl and I was left to manage two puppies.Edited to Add: I posted this review, called the Banfield in question, and emailed corporate. The only action taken was for the Banfield manager to get a vet on the phone with me (NOT the vet who signed off on my dogs' visit mind you). Banfield has a culture of passing the buck so no one is responsible and no one actually remedies a situation.

I have a senior dog that gets very anxious about the vet and can become reactive during visits. We stopped going to our previous vet for this reason, it seemed like every time we went her anxiety would just get worse and it would become very difficult to examine her or give shots. I needed to get her shots up to date so I made an appointment here. The receptionists are very nice, organized, and professional. The vet and the tech that worked with us were also kind and professional. I could tell they are truly great at their jobs and that they really care about pets. They were so patient and my dog eventually warmed up to them a little bit, which shocked me in a good way. She even wagged her tail a few times once the shots were done with. As a new patient they got us set up with a wellness plan and it is very affordable. I can't thank the team here enough for taking care of my dog. She is like my child and I love her so much. The way she was treated made me very happy, and we are so glad we made the switch.

If I could give zero stars I would. This place has caused me a lot of stress over the year we've been with them, including a dead cat that received terrible care. I read reviews before I went but ignored them - please, for your own sake, don't make the mistake I did! Also, avoid wellness plans at all costs. They end up being far more expensive than just receiving the care without the "discounts" (these are not real, they are 100% psychological smoke and mirrors). Also, they will sign you up for the wrong plan (of course it's always the more expensive one) and will refuse to give you the one you requested. As far as quality of care goes, it's terrible. We had kitten plans, and it took them several visits to notice they had parasites. We were told this was "normal," but it's totally not normal. We also took a kitten in only to have him get very sick following his visit. I'm not even sure if he was ever actually examined. When we took him to another vet, we discovered he had parasites (these are street kittens we rescue). They missed them again! But of course, they charge you for missing them. Our cat broke her elbow, and she was put in a cast. The vet, of course, did not send us home with a cone. I think this is standard practice at any other vet. They told me "not to let her chew it." Of course, the second she was alone she chewed through the cast. This could have been avoided with a simple and cheap cone, but instead, our cat died from her injuries, as the cast was immediately compromised. When we complained to the company they put us in conversation with the manager. May you never have to speak with her! Her rudeness upset me for days. I was honestly shocked. She talks over you, accuses you of lying, and gaslights you. It was honestly kind of abusive. I've filed complaints with corporate, so hopefully something will be done about that, but it's unlikely. The best thing you can do is go anywhere else. Canceling my wellness plans was the best thing I could have done for my pets. Please. PLEASE find yourself a better vet than this.
