The testing menu is incredible and creative. Molecular dishes and surprise testing experience.
Outstanding service, nice music, and romantic atmosphere. Feel like in Michelin Stars restaurant somewhere in Europe but American stile.
Food & drinks: Paring wine set was great.

My wife and I booked a cooking class/dinner at Zero George on Monday night with chef Jeremy Gozlan and it was beyond amazing! We had such an amazing evening, made some friends we were a group of 8 people, everyone loved the food. Jeremy was so professional, he was very knowledgeable not just about food, but history also. All of the dishes were cooked to perfection. My favorite was the Argentinian red shrimp, banana pepper puree, tapioca crisp and black caviar. We highly recommend!

Just spent the weekend at Zero George and as a deep lover of boutique and lux hotels, this is truly one of the best. The property itself is picture perfect. Every sight line has been considered. The rooms are very comfortable—the great pillows, the complimentary in-room sparkling water, the smart tv, the Malin + Goetz toiletries, and the turn down service are all expert touches. There are so many comfy spots on property to relax. I loved my veranda room. Every member of the Zero George team was beyond helpful and friendly—pre check-in to post check-out, making sure I was comfortable (and air conditioned) as I waited to head to the airport. Above and beyond hospitality. So gracious and generous. I’ll be back, for a longer stay and a cooking class!

Great hotel that offers exceptional service and great amenities for what they do have. I wish this was a pool for the heat but otherwise everything was phenomenal. We will be coming back when in Charleston next. Conveniently located between both beaches and near all the action of

My sister and I stayed in Garden Suite #2 (the upstairs one) at the Zero George for almost a week in early June of 2024. We also attended a cooking class on Sunday for lunch. Both the stay and the lunch were outstanding.
When you book a stay at the Zero George, you are getting a stay in a picturesque historic hotel with amenities geared toward guest experience and a location that lends itself to walking to most of Charleston's major attractions. A full breakfast, wine and cheese hour, and nightly turndown service with a fresh cookie are included with your stay. Capable concierge services are available, as are several bikes parked in the courtyard for your use. Though there is some traffic noise from Bay Street during rush hour, the hotel has several fountains to mitigate it. Overall, the Zero George feels like a gracious, welcoming sanctuary.
What you are not getting with your stay is a pool, dedicated fitness center, elevators, crowds, and a modern vibe. For us the the Zero George offered everything that was important to us and nothing that wasn't....It was perfection!
During your stay, you must either take the cooking class or get a reservation for the fixed tasting menu at Zero George's restaurant. The creativity and food quality were exceptional!
Rooms: Our room, one of the garden suites, was well-appointed with plenty of pillows and fresh linen. The bathroom was pretty basic, but the dressing room made the bedroom area of the suite feel more spacious. The decor was traditional with a nod toward modern that kept it from feeling stuffy. In the entry of our suite was a coffee station with a compact refrigerator drawer. The lounge area of the room was arranged with a sofabed and two occasional chairs for relaxing or entertaining.
Nearby activities: Historic Charleston's major attractions are within about a mile of the Zero George. King Street shopping, Liberty Square, Charleston Maritime Center, the Aquarium, Marion Square, Charleston City Market are under a half mile.
Walkability: The Zero George is very walkable to most of historic Charleston's attractions. As middle-aged ladies we felt safe walking in the neighborhood by ourselves (though we weren't walking around after dark). Sidewalks can be narrow and uneven. Concierge can arrange for a trip to the beach or plantation if that is something you want to experience.
Food & drinks: The creativity, execution and food quality were exceptional. You must try the tasting menu or cooking class even if you choose to stay somewhere else.
Noteworthy details: Charming ambiance and gracious staff.

I tried to make a dinner reservation through Google and it never confirmed the reservation. Never got a call from the restaurant either. We went to a different restaurant and the next day we were charged $200 for a no show.

We had an amazing long weekend stay at the Zero George. Mark the concierge was super helpful, attentive and accommodating. We enjoyed chatting with him from arrival to departure. He suggested we take the house bikes to King St. for dinner and it made for the perfect evening. There’s always a line for dinner at 167 Raw, so we put our names in and took the bikes to the battery and around south of broad. The jasmine was in full bloom! The complementary breakfast at the hotel is great, as is wine and cheese happy hour, and turn down service. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed too. We will be back to enjoy sitting in the inner gardens in this central Charleston spot!!
Rooms: We appreciated the historical details of our room. It was small but beautifully laid out, so very comfortable with all modern luxuries available.
Nearby activities: There’s so much to do in Charleston; we love coming in from Atlanta and enjoying a weekend of live music, good food, and beautifully landscaped gardens, window boxes, and history. All of it is within walking distance of the Zero George.
Safety: Mark, the concierge, and others are always on site and watching what’s happening. We felt very safe with them taking care of and valeting our car and our bags and keeping us abreast of what was happening in town.
Walkability: The hotel is so central, you can’t get any better we were able to walk to Delaney‘s on Calgary Street and anything on King Street, and also explore the battery in south of Broad
Food & drinks: The wine and cheese hour was great, as was the coffee and breakfast menu. We’ll have to be back for the restaurant
Noteworthy details: Landscaping, gardens and architectural details are superb. The gastronomy just as good!
