Not much there except an office for tours and a pizza joint. The rest looks like a space abandoned in time.

Great place to kill time in Charleston. The market has a crafts fair vibe and encompasses three different buildings.

Very cool place to find all sorts of merchandise from art to key chains. I would recommend anyone in the area to look through the day market and night market (local art and items at night).

I just want to review all the reviewers that have mistakenly reviewed the city market as the rainbow market. You are not a good reviewer. If you are a tourist reviewer it’s excusable but if you claim to be local, I’m pulling your card. They are adjacent but completely different entities to be sure. If you don’t recognize the difference and you call yourself a “local guide” you should be ashamed. The rainbow market is the small group of shops including Giovannis pizza and the kite shop. Most businesses have been empty for years in the rainbow market but the kite store has been a favorite since I was very young and Giovannis is great. The historic city market however is an entirely separate and completely different entity. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

Rainbow market is bigger than you might think. It is full of all kinds of crafts and gifts. The hand woven baskets are beautiful, and there were multiple people on site weaving them by hand. The craftmanship was awesome! They take pride in their craft! Rainbow Market is worth the trip. Expect to spend at least an hour there.
