We have stayed here twice and love it! Fantastic location, great price and very responsive. The Chestnut of Charleston is our "go to"for our trips to Charleston. We have stayed in the Sailboat Suite, which has plenty of room for many adults. You will not be disappointed.

Really beautiful, well appointed, spacious accommodations in the heart of downtown Charleston. Honestly, the only thing wrong was that we could not stay longer. Private elevator was amazing when needed for groceries or luggage, but truthfully, it was simply lovely and we would have been super happy regardless!

I can’t speak highly enough of the Charleston Chestnut Mansion. All superlatives hold true. The location cannot be beat- right in the middle of everything you’d want to explore but without the noise you might expect. Service was impeccable. Marie made herself available at all times and made sure we were so well taken care of. We were in the middle of a 2 month trip, and I had several (too many) provisions delivered during our stay at the Mansion, and Marie and the staff at the first floor salon never complained about my pile of packages and instead made sure each was hand-delivered with a smile. The furnishings, finishings, and toiletries were top-notch- I even checked the tags on a few items to purchase back home! Every detail was considered: beach supplies (chairs, sun umbrella, sunscreen, toys, and even a beach bag to hold everything!); laundry hampers in each room; dog beds, bowls, & pads (if you bring your pup); coffee… all of the items that are rarely considered at other rentals. We traveled with an infant and a toddler, and each suite was equipped with a brand new pack n play.We rented the two upper suites (2nd and 3rd floor), and it worked out perfectly. The inner stairwell connects both suites, and the doors on each floor can be left open to create one large rental space. For those traveling with babies, 2 of the bedrooms in the 2nd floor suite have closets large enough to hold pack n plays (dark + quiet = happy sleeping baby). The bottom floor foyer was spacious enough to house both of our strollers.We are in love with Charleston and plan on staying at the Chestnut Mansion every time it’s available. Thanks to Marie for an incredible stay and the very best part of our two month trip!

This place is awesome. We loved it! Had friends we hadn’t seen in a long time, and it was a great place to connect without having to get multiple hotel rooms. The process was easy; they are great to work with! We will stay again.

Marie was a fabulous hostess. She was accommodating to our schedule for arrival and departure times and readily available had we required. The unit itself is in an amazing central location. The Historic Charleston City Market was just around the corner. Shops and restaurants were steps out the door, we parked our car and never needed it again for our visit. How convenient to have a full scale super market with a sweet wine selection, open 24/7 (Harris Teeter) only a block away.We loved that there was dedicated parking right at the door steps- no lugging suitcases for blocks!The unit was tastefully decorated with top of the line everything, right down to the ironing board!!! Obviously, it was designed professionally. The photos do not do it justice!We stayed with our adult children and the two full baths were extreamly conveient and appreciated.I was a bit leary about cleanliness, as this was our first time using VRBO. I couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised, the place was immaculate.We slept with ease in the amazingly comfortable beds. The showers were spacious, and modern. My husband was especially pleased with the water pressure.The two separate living/family rooms were great and provided us the privacy and comfort while traveling with our adult children.Great big thanks to Marie! We look forward to our next trip to Charleston at the Chestnut!
