I just recently switched to SouthState from SC Federal, and couldn't be happier. I had been shopping around for a while, but knew this had to be the bank I open an account with when I first walked in and was helped by Hannah and Keely. Yes, their beauty is obviously charming, but more than that they are friendly, intelligent, and have a certain je ne sais quoi you don't normally find in bankers. As far as life experiences go, bank transactions are usually pretty dry, but both of these employees make bland/routine paperwork an entertaining thing because of their fun personalities and joie de vivre. Usually I use the ATM to make my deposits, but now I might have to start coming inside, since even just a two minute conversation with either Hannah or Keely brightens my day. Other employees are probably ok too, but I haven't talked to them yet. Cheers yall.

I just want to say this bank branch and branch manager Patty Baldree are the absolute best! I have never had such a helpful bank in my life I will never leave! They have my upmost respect and gratitude. They have gone above and beyond out of there way to help me with huge issues on more than one occasion. I wish I could give them more stars. Highly recommend this bank branch for any banking,savings,loans etc...you need

Past 2 months my account has been locked when trying to log in. Then I have to wait 30 min at least on the phone before I ever talk to a person. Who tells me there is nothing wrong with my account, and all of the sudden I can log in. Also last month when I withdrew my own money but because it was a large sum, the teller decided to it would good time to question what I do for a living? Mind you this was not a deposit. It was a withdrawal of my own funds. She couldn't have been more rude. They get stars as when I first opened my account I was fine with the service other then no locations print Debit cards or give you replacement. So If you loose your debit it card it takes 10-16 days to receive not the 5-7 they quote you. Dont waste your time with this bank.

This South State Bank location on James Island is a really good bank branch that works well for all of your banking needs no matter how large or small. The staff here is very knowledgeable and helpful at coming up with banking solutions when you need them. It is good to know that there is a good bank that you can rely on.

The people here are angles! I am sitting here 43 minutes after they close (they have literally kept the branch open for me) and they could not be any nicer! I highly recommend this branch, especially Ms. Trinity!

God forbid your card is lost or stolen. Its almost impossible to cancel the card without having to go through robots then be transferred 5 different times. There is no easy cancel or turn off option.

It took 15 minutes for a deposit with no other cars in the parking lot. That's unacceptable with no cars in the parking lot or drive thru. I will never go to this bank again! For people looking for a south state bank it's worth the drive to go on the one on James island.

Friendly staff but this branch forgot to order cash (over the weekend) so they did not have enough large bills to cash a check. They ended up sending me down the street to another branch.

You just can't help but feel the sincerity in the three workers that lifted their heads to greet me. I was the only customer inside, but I tend to believe that this is customary no matter the amount of people. Once at the teller, we chatted a bit about South Carolina banks, turns out that a bank that had an account with, that had thus very location was absorbed by South State. South State is the state's largest bank and has a presence as northbound as upper Virginia. The ease of transactions, the financial strength of the bank and the kindness in their demeanor makes me one happy customer.

Have had so many bad experiences here. It's unfortunate. I want to live this bank. Just waited 45 minutes to open a new account. Already have one checking and a mortgage here. Asked how much longer after 45 and she said 10 minutes. The lady I was waiting to meet with was showing pictures of kids on her phone to people and making no effort to meet with me or get done. Rude. Was planning to explore home equity line of credit with them as well, but they obviously don't want my business since I keep having the same experience.
