Dr. Grayboles has provided care for my father for over 4 years. He preformed -a jaw in a day surgery years ago on my Dad and now he's treating him for throat cancer. I never could have gotten through all of this without the care, concern and compassion he and his staff has given us!!! They treat us like family and provide constant updates. Bless him and his wonderful staff!!!

Just wanted to give a special thanks to David Shaw for helping myself, newborn, and mother when leaving Rutledge Tower. He went above and beyond when trying to leave selecting the right elevators and navigating through those long halls to get back to the garage. This was my first time there 4 days post C-section. I jokingly asked for a transport team when checking out, but when Mr. Shaw had seen us he said he would look for a wheelchair and come back for us. He didn’t know I asked and he kept his word. I was going to try to push through. He took control and got us to the garage quicker and seemingly a different route than we had came. He was an absolute joy to be around. Selfless and super funny. Just positive energy all around. I wish we could have gotten a picture with you. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much, Mr David Shaw, for making our visit that much more special. Thank you.

Best medical care Ive received in my 20 years of being in the military. The doctor was very thorough and attentive, they ordered more labs and X-Rays and had the results and the doctor’s comments on the results inputted in my chart the same day. By the time i drove back down to Beaufort i had all the answers to my questions. Definitely a higher level care at MUSC in comparison to the Savannah Rheumatology center, they get no stars.

Honestly I had heard great things about this hospital but unfortunately my experience has not been great. While the 2 doctors I spoke to were fine it was difficult because it’s a training hospital so you are most likely to get a resident (in training), this wouldn’t be so bad but the issue is that you don’t get to see the same person (as residents are only in office at certain times). So the second primary doctor I saw had no idea what I was seen for already and basically had to start the process all over again. This was frustrating but my biggest issue with MUSC is trying to get them medical records. My doctors office sent them over twice almost a month and a half ago (2 weeks for the second one) and when talking to Health Information Services they did not help at all. I was only told to send a request (which doesn’t make sense as my primary care doctor explained since I’m sending them records) and when my primary doctor called them she said the person she spoke to said she didn’t know what my primary care doctor was talking about and that if their office sent over records MUSC would have received them. There’s some serious break down of communication that makes it almost impossible to get anything done. Which is unfortunate because I do feel that when you are seen the care is good but there’s just way too many other issues with this place.

One of the primary buildings for the teaching university of the Medical University of South Carolina that's always been a pleasure to visit, even for quality healthcare, IMHO.
