Beautiful rugs and helpful staff until you actually want the rug you paid for. I purchased a rug on 2/27 with promised delivery several days later. Nothing. I had to call and inquire. Blamed on missing padding. Second promised date resulted in no delivery as well. Once again, I had to call and inquire. Blamed on my not asking for delivery! My head spun. I declined the third offer, to hand deliver it to me in Virginia, and called my credit card company to cancel the charge. Despite taking my credit card number and stating on two occasions a week apart that the credit had gone through, it is still not posted. The original excuse was they were waiting for the rug to come back from delivery! It had never been sent out for delivery! Unless you can take the rug at the point of sale, run away from this store

Incredible!! The ability of the owner and the design team is second to none. Not to mention their rug purveyor. This is an incredible operation..

As you stroll down King Street, make sure you stop in at Mitchell Hill. This store is filled with beautiful artwork and trendy furniture. Their eye for design is impeccable. Whether you are actively shopping or looking for ideas, Mitchel Hill is a must-place to check out.

We engaged Mitchell Hill for full design services for a new property. We were extremely disappointed at almost every aspect of the engagement including project management and oversight, customer service, communication and issue resolution, incorrect sizing of pieces based on space as well as poor product quality. We actually elected to finish the project on our own without ‘professional’ help. We would definitely not recommend MH for design services.

Always interesting art and unique accessories. I also had the good fortune to be stuck in Mitchell Hill with their incredibly kind and generous staff during a recent crisis on King Street. What a special team.

The art in Mitchell Hill is beautiful! I like that the Mitchell Hill Art Gallery is not exclusively paintings. In addition to paintings, Mitchell Hill Art Gallery has these artificial animal artifacts, such as Ostrich eggs. Also, the furniture in Mitchell Hill is beautiful. My favorite painting in Mitchell Hill Art Gallery is the painting of a boat out at sea in a bad storm.

Intriguing gallery of pieces, though a bit high end for your everyman.

I enjoyed visiting the gallery and although I wasn't looking to purchase anything, it was an amazing experience. I was ineresting learning about the different atist and seeing their unique artwork on display. I learned about how some scultptures were made and it was very pleasing. The people who were working at the shop were so patient and kind even when we decided to pop up last minute and explore what they have. I was able to ask questions and get awesome responces. This is definitely a place I would purchase home decor from.

I met Michael quite accidentally while walking on King St. looking for a Birthday gift for a man who truly “has it all”, and I found it in Mitchell-Hill. Quintessential Southerners, we ended up talking for two hours and I decided to hire MH to manage an upcoming renovation of my childhood home. Skip ahead 6 months and we are in the middle of renovation Hell, there is so much damage that the Contractor added 4 months to the closing date. From my home outside Pittsburgh I’m failing to keep my Mom happy and the MH contract has to be retracted, Michael did his best to keep open the lines of communication and through no fault of his own it simply didn’t happen. C. Dobson (my husband) wrote and posted an unfair review and I’m posting this to reclaim the blame. It was my responsibility to keep MH in the loop and I didn’t. It was my responsibility to meet with MH and keep appointments, I didn’t. It was my responsibility to get drawings and floor plans to MH and I didn’t, the blame fell on MH and for that I apologize as publicly as my husband defamed. Michael is conscientious and a consummate perfectionist, every little detail is important and he’s an artist in his own right. In good conscience I have to correct a wrong done and accept my responsibility in this debacle, MH is Charleston. Born and Bred! Thank You Michael, I’ll bring the Champagne!

Located in the middle of King Street, stands the magnificent Mitchell Hill gallery. As soon as you enter the gallery you are taken away by the variety of artwork. After taking endless pictures around the gallery, I decided to post one picture that I believe truly captures the essence of the enchanted showroom. As shown below, the picture portrays an assortment of one-of-a-kind artwork. Whether you are looking for a small coffee table for the living room, a replacement for that old worn sofa, or a watercolor painting for the summer house, the Mitchell Hill gallery has plenty to offer at reasonable prices. I strongly recommend anyone walking down King Street to take a few moments out of their day to check out the shop!

Whether it's a commercial space or a residence, you can count on the Mitchell Hill team to pull together a plan when other designer's can't...especially if you are in a time crunch of if another team drops the ball. I had the opportunity to work with Michael Mitchell on a project for a commercial doctor's office that turned out wonderful when the a previous design firm could not get the opening and space completed in a satisfactory time frame. Michael landed the job, took control and the job was completed in record time!

I went to Charleston in the fall of 2017 in the spring of 2018, looking for a company to help me rebuild my mother-in-law‘s place. My wife talked me into dealing with Michael Hill, when I met him briefly he wanted $15,000, 5000 for the initial interview, and $10,000 for handling any products . At this time I was looking for a builder, As I am a builder in another state I did not have time to travel to South Carolina. I spent about a half an hour with his associate, I sent her a set of floorplans, and two days later she quit. At this time I did all the design work and drawings myself to hand out to contractors that he may have found Michael finally got me in touch with a builder, but by this time I had already found other builders in the area. When the final pricing came in the builder I found who was excellent an was $38,000 cheaper, and had included a $10,000 extra that the other builder would have wanted. I ended up handling all the products all the decisions and everything involved on my own. I called Michael and said I felt he owed me the $10,000 back, because he did nothing as far as picking products or picking any products up whatsoever, I spent many trips traveling back-and-forth to Charleston and I dealt with every supplier and everybody that was Involved. In the end Michael refused to refund any money, for a job he never even did. My advice if you’re looking for consulting companies in South Carolina, be very careful.

Mitchell Hill is an amazing contemporary gallery for both art and interior design!
