Poured a cup of Joe, then fired up my TRS-80 to catch up on the latest fake news. Suddenly, I smell smoke. My trusty electronic companion beeps twice, then goes dark.Despite rebooting, shaking, and several chest compressions, my faithful electronic companion has computed for the last time.I am crestfallen.My wife, sitting across the kitchen table, pauses her game of Wordle and says, "It's Cyber Monday. Buy a new one.""Where's the nearest Radio Shack?" I ask."They went out of business in 2015," she responds, shaking her head."Guess my free battery card is useless now", I think to myself, searching through my Tandy wallet."How about Circuit City?""Nope. Closed in 2009."CompUSA?"2007."The Wiz?"2003."Crazy Eddie?"Stop bothering me," she says. "Just take a ride over to Best Buy in West Trashley."I dust off the Hagstrom Map and before you can say "Windows Operating System" three times fast, I'm pulling into a parking spot labled, "Mother and Baby".I apply the Roadmaster's steering wheel lock.Entering the store, I try to remember the last time I stepped into a Best Buy.I vaguely remember buying some DVD movies and a music CD or even a Video game or some stereo equipment, but I quickly notice that none of these things are sold here anymore.I ask the pleasant greeter at the front door where I can find computers.She points to a sign the size of a highway billboard near the restroom. I could've seen it from a 747 cruising at 40,000 feet, but unfortunately, I left my glasses in the car.The Computer Section employee looks just like the underclassmen I used to stuff into lockers in high school!He starts asking me more questions than a State Trooper on New Year's Eve.Q: "Desktop or a Laptop?"A: "I don't own a desk."Q: "Will this be for Business or Personal Use?" A: "Neither"Q: "For Gaming?"A: "I play the ponies."Q: "Are you a Power User?"A: "I'm a Power Eater."Finally, I just point at a neat looking green one nearby.Geek Squad guy says, "that's for kids whose parents want them to be pre-occupied when dining out."At this point, I seriously look around the store for any lockers to stuff this guy into.I finally make a selection (it was shiny and lit up), then wait on line to pay for it behind a middle-aged couple buying a flat screen large enough to double for the Dallas Cowboy's Jumbotron.When my turn comes, the checkout guy asks if I have a Best Buy "app"."What's an app?" I reply.An hour later, I'm sitting at the kitchen table with my brand new electronic buddy.I download the TRS-80 emulator and excitedly press the on button.I smell smoke!Luckily it was my just wife making dinner.All in all, great service, selection and pricing. I only hope they're still in business the next time I need a new computer!

Probably the rudest service and management I've ever experienced at a Best Buy, of all places.Let me note that we are not from this area, we made an order for a printer for my grandparents and came to pick it up. They very rudely refused to fulfill the order and told us it would take 3 hours. There was no way we were going to wait that long. We left to do other things and Best Buy cancelled the order on their end, which means they never had the inventory for it anyway! Absolutely ridiculous and rude.

This store is filthy, walked around looking for help for 15-20 minutes and nothing. Tried to price TV's but most were missing information placards with pricing and details. Could not locate the manager, but he was outside in the smoke pit...very disappointing experience! Clean the joint up and get some energetic sales people would ya?

DO NOT USE FOR DELIVERY/INSTALLATION!! Today was the 3rd FULL day I waited for a washing machine delivery which I purchased from BB in Charleston. I won't bother with the terrible experience the first two days (just to say I took off work and planned for the delivery and they never happened) but today, after confirming last night, getting a confirmation text for an 11-3 slot from Best Buy for the delivery, nothing happened. I made 8 phone calls, during the 5:00 pm call,, they confirmed it was on a truck and they were sorry and asked if I could wait longer, I agreed. At 7:00 pm on another call, someone got through to the warehouse who said it seemed like the delivery truck got in an accident so they couldn't do it. NO phone calls or communication throughout the day about any issue, in fact just the above reassurance that if I wait long enough it will show up. Also, for reference, I was told that no one in the BB store answers phone calls so that's why all calls are dealt with by overseas representatives who are just looking at computer and don't know anything about what's going on or how to investigate, they can't even contact their own drivers to find out about delivery problems. How will they compensate me for over 20 hours of missed work just to be there to receive a washing machine?

Absolutely terrible store. Purchased a Screen Protector with a warranty and this store will not uphold their word after lying to their customers. DO NOT SHOP HERE!

Tried to buy a dishwasher. Requested help in appliances from the door greeter who put out the request on his head set. Lady before me was looking at refrigerators. Guy after me had an appliance question. 12-15 minutes later the three of us were still waiting. Finally, I left telling the greeter of my dissatisfaction. He could care less. I no soon got to my car and out came the other people waiting. Nobody bought anything from Best Buy today due to lack of customer service. But they had a dozen people putting up inventory cause apparently that is more important than actually helping make a sale. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT BEST BUY!!!

I needed to reset my phone and stood in line for 30 min just for the next tech man who saw me standing in line to say they not taking the walk ins and proceeds to talk to a white lady behind me and this other black girl first for a appointment

This time the store looks like it is going out of business in the auto section, with empty shelves and nobody to help if you have questions. Please close this section off if you do not want to invest in inventory but don't make come to find a meager amount of available stuff

Haven't been in a best buy in years. Now I remember why. Went in with the intent of purchasing a TV that was on sale. Couldn't get the attention of any sales reps, and of course you can't do anything on your own. Never again, from now on I'll do Costco exclusively.

My computer stopped working after an update. I was unable to immediately restore. I went to Geek Squad bought an annual service and also obtained a hard drive for backup. I kept calling Geek squad and was finally told that someone had just been assigned. When I finally got a manager, I was told that it had been fixed 10 days earlier, and I was not called as promised and sent from pillar to post. Moreover, the computer had 2 drives, an SSD and a hard drive. Geek squad simply installed windows 11 onto the hard drive, although I had given them the entire history. Boy what a horrible experience. I am definitely not renewing, and suggest that people should avoid this store.

I wanted to examine and compare several cameras and speak with someone knowledgeable to determine the best fit for my needs. Besides having to make a specific reservation to enter the store on Sam Rittenberg Blvd in Charleston, when I arrived I was told that none of the models had charged batteries! No Ability to check out visuals, see through the viewfinder, etc. what a complete waste of time!

I'm starting a podcast so needed a new and smaller computer. Brandon was an expert in computers and podcasting, so he was able to guide me to the perfect device as well as sharing his podcasting expertise. He called upon the expertise of Michael Mitchell as well. Everyone in the store (thanks for the fast checkout, Preston!) was happy to share their expertise!

Best Buy on Sam Rittenberg Blvd has the best selection of electronics and appliances around. This is the nicest and definitely the most convenient Best Buy of all of their area stores. It’s centrally located and easily accessible.

The Best Buy on Sam Rittenberg Blvd is by far their nicest area location of all Best Buy stores in the region. It's the only one with a Magnolia Home Theater section and an Apple department. Very convenient and knowledgeable courteous staff. I'm extremely pleased with my experiences at this location and highly recommend it to everyone.

The Best Buy on Sam Rittenberg Blvd is the only location in the region with a Magnolia home theater center and the only location with the Apple department. It's by far the best and most convenient location of all of their area stores and the most centrally located. I always find what I'm looking for at this Best Buy location and the staff couldn't be more helpful. I'm very pleased with all of my many purchases from this location and highly recommend them.
