Too much construction going on, so you couldn’t visit the church or half the cemetery.

was not able to spend a lot of time here, but the views in the area and just the overall vibe is very aesthetic and nice. Definitely will spend more time when I get back. The area with the dock is very nice as well.

This was a really nice park. There were two swings for kids of all ages and a cute water fountain. The bathrooms were very clean.

Our main purpose for going to Liberty Square was to access the Fort Sumpter Museum, but then we noticed the nice well kept park and several displays. It also has a great view of the river, the bridge and the Yorktown on the other side. This park is worth being a destination of its own.
Playground: No equipment but lots of room to play
Toilets: Restrooms in the area
Dog-friendliness: Dogs on leash allowed
Picnic area: Seating but no tables

Enjoyable boat ride to Ft. Sumter! Learned some cool history about the battle, Park Rangers knowledgeable and a bit entertaining. Absolutely worth the time and money!

Nice spot, here is another area where you can catch the old river boat rides over to Sumter, and visit the big Aquarium right there, which actually looks rather nice and new!

• We visited on a Sunday morning during winter break (Christmas eve) in Dec 2023.• Parking was easy as we arrived around 8:50 AM and we had our pick of street parking. Sunday also is free parking in Charleston on the meters anyways. We parked right outside the park along the street.• We were visiting the Fort Sumter Visitor Center specifically. In liberty square there was a large pavilion with picnic tables underneath which looked like a nice place to have lunch. We also did not see any outdoor public restrooms during our visit. There are restrooms inside the Fort Sumter Visitor Center in the back of the building.Restrooms: We did not see any public restrooms outside during our visit but we do know the Fort Sumter Visitor Center has restrooms at the back of the building that you could probably use when it's open.Picnic area: There is a large pavilion with picnic tables. See review pictures.
