I can't speak highly enough about my experience with J. McLaughlin's downtown Charleston store! Their graciousness towards small businesses is truly commendable. The level of customer service is nothing sort of amazing, and the friendly atmosphere makes every visit a delight. What sets them apart is their dedication to providing not just good, but exceptional service. They go out of their way to ensure quality and make every interaction memorable. A gem of a place with a heartwarming commitment to their customers. Highly recommended !!!

Very bad customer service. I wasn't even acknowledged to be in the store shopping. Guess I didn't fit the prototype for the Charleston, SC location.

We frequent Charleston, but only came across / went inside this store earlier this year (we have since been back). What is there to say.. the employees are fantastic (I don't know how many work there, but it has been the same 2 ladies each time we have been). They are super helpful and friendly! We have been very happy with the items we have gotten from here. Definitely worth a stop in, if it is your style of clothing (they do have a small section in the back for the guys as well)

While this store has a nice selection, I had several issues with my purchase. I found a dress I wanted, but they didn't have the size I needed, so I had to order it to be shipped to my house, no problem! So I ordered it, and they took my email and phone number to send the tracking information.The email never arrived with my tracking information, so I wait 2 weeks. Still nothing. At this point I call the store and the manager (I think) picks up. I explain the situation, give my order#, and then she says she'll have to call me back later. So I wait for a couple hours and finally receive a call. It turns out it (according to them) shipped to the store, and they forgot to send it to me, so it was just sitting in the back for ~2 weeks. The manager apologizes and sends it to my home.When it arrives, it's in fine condition, but it turns out they charged me the wrong price because of taxes, so they gave me a gift card for $2. Which at that point I'd have preferred anything other than a gift card. This store gets 2 Stars is because the manager (on the phone) was really polite, and she was not the same representative I dealt with when i was at the store the first time. Everything else was a dreadful experience.

Best customer service in Charleston. Other retailers could learn from shopping at the store. Everyone there was super helpful and courteous and welcoming. It was a pleasure to shop there !
