Very impressive, I was quite surprised the condition was excellent and some really tough greens!

One of the best Muni’s in the country! people that give it one stars are mad about out of town cost or don’t appreciate a unique golf course design. The greens /bunkers are challenging by design! Haters gonna hate

Played yesterday. Although it was crowded the pace of play was not slow at all. I am from out of state, so I found everything challenging. The greens are fairly small and very undulated. I found the speed and roll to be around a 9. The fairways were in good shape. Some of the bunkers are tough to get out of. Im a 10 handicap, definitely not a good round, shot a 91. Looking forward to playing here again next year

This was a very nice course for the price! And the breeze coming off the water was delightful considering it was very warm out

Much better than when I played years ago before the renovation but oh my, elevated greens everywhere.!! That was a little too much and the one green shaped like a taco shell with a valley done the middle is stoopid!! We had fun and price was ok for Charleston area. Not sure I would return.

Horrible course. The front 9 is on top of each other, ugly course, not maintained at all, the fairways are under construction, the grass is not cut, and the course reeked of dead fish. No concept for managing the course’s traffic and it took us 3 hours to play 9 holes. Not to mention the staff at the pro shop were horribly rude and not willing to help its customers. Would not recommend at all.

called last monday and set a tee time for sunday for 2:54 , showed up got some lunch and purchased $54 worth of beer for my group. then when i went to check in, it was told " someone should have called you" the course was booked for a kids tournament. which is awesome . but it would have been great to know 6 days prior when i booked the tee time. i drove an hr. to get to the course , and one of the guys in my group drove down from columbia, over 2 hrs away. i understand its just golf, but having your whole day planned around an event only to have it blow up in your face sucks. worst part is that was the lack of sympathy. i was told i could hang around till 4 to see if we could get on... ! they could have at least offered for a comp round or something since the mistake was 100% on their end. and the icing on the cake was the fact that i had $54 worth of beer that bar didn't offer to take back. not only did i waste my day, my time but also my money. it was a very disappointing experience.
EDIT: the manager reached out and made things right. offered to cover our round and refund the money i spent on drinks. i really appreciate them reaching out to me. mistakes happen and how you handle them is what really defines the situation. hats off to them for making this right.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Charges $60 extra if you’re not a “local”, after pushing tee time back an hour once we arrived. And then charges us for the cart for 18 holes even though we were only playing 9. But wasn’t able to give us the $10 refund for the other 9 holes. Overall terrible course, and would not recommend or ever go back!!!

Gold standard of what a MUNI should be in the community.

Course was fun and different but our round was cut short due to the “rain” coming in. It didn’t rain for the next 2 hours. No refund, no rain check, just told to get off the course.

One of the finest municipal golf courses in the country. Troy Miller did a wonderful job of taking Seth Raynor’s architectural principles and implemented them to great effect at Muni.
A number of the template holes were charming renditions, especially the Eden, Miller’s par 5 version of the Knoll, the Alps bunker in front of 9 green, the Redan, Cape, Road, Short and Maiden. The stretch from 11-15 is outstanding and exhilarating golf.
For the price point, the playing surfaces remain in excellent condition. It is frustrating to pay extra as an out-of-towner, but if you have any architectural interest, you’ll enjoy it.

Sad they’re missing out on so much business. If I can’t call to book a tee time when the website is down, I’m done. I’ll pay more to play closer to home, on a better course, and not be frustrated by your staff and broken website.
