Over the past month I have worked with Kevin from the Charleston Hardware Co. let me tell you these people and the Co. are absolutely great! I purchased all my hardware for my custom front door on my new house and it’s great. From the moment I walked in Kevin took care of us and everything was very fast. He even took time to walk us through their process and show us all the things they do. Knowing I was on a timeline they went out of their way to make sure I had all the stuff I needed on time. Fortunately I found this business from a browser search. Every conversation was helpful, polite, professional and beyond. Kevin went out of his way to understand my project and make creative suggestions for a custom design and an existing product. I am so happy with the items and cannot wait to finish the installation. I was looking for this specific doorknocker for years because I had a really lovely old antique one my dad had picked up in Morocco and given me. When he passed away, I really wanted to put it on my door. Even though it was theoretically feasible, I didn't have a strike plate. I was looking for years for a similar reproduction, a matching strike plate, or a good quality workable antique one. All the reproductions were terrible. I even considered commissioning someone. Finally, I saw that Charleston Hardware had a beautiful reproduction. I bought it, and installed it immediately. It was so beautiful, and when you put it by mine side by side, you'd be surprised. You'd think they'd modeled it off mine even though they hadn't. I had one hiccup where the strike plate wasn't flush but they immediately sent me replacement hardware and now it's perfect. I ordered solid brass pocket door hardware and they arrived about a week later. The quality and detail were great and were exactly as depicted. These are a great addition to the restoration of our 1830 early Victorian. I would definitely buy from Charleston Hardware again.

I have been working with Brad (and the whole wonderful team) at Charleston Hardware to outfit my whole house. Everything from our privacy pocket doors, to beautiful unique hardware for our mini double dutch exterior door, to matching light switch plates - I am in love! Quality is fabulous, the pieces are one of a kind, and the customer service has been impeccable even working from states away! Highly recommend these guys!!

Great products and service. I ordered a replica brass knob and it was ready in 2 days. Once I saw it, I decided I wanted it aged. They aged it within another few days. They were so nice and accommodating. Great turnaround.

My restored door hardware is breathtaking! It is exquisitely conserved with a finish that lets us see what the original owners saw 133 years ago! The polish and relief is applied expertly and my neighbors with similar old homes were speechless when I showed them what our antique hardware looks like all restored and functional again. I have also purchased this company’s fantastic reproductions, in antiqued finish, and I truly love the way the hardware blends in with the originals in my rooms in both the patterns/styles and the finish. Very happy and will definitely purchase more!

Endless delays. They don’t have the things listed on their website. Even though I was told they don’t have polished nickel transom chains, they are still listed on the website. I had to settle for chrome, which doesn’t look great. I wouldn’t have ordered if I had known this. They also did not cut the transom chain to the length I requested on the order. And did I get an apology for their failings? Nothing much. Just a very curt note with my tracking number. A small business should do better than this, and should not lure in business for products they don’t have or that will take a lengthy and unspecified order process.Disappointed.
