I was so impressed with the clear communication, updates, friendly customer service. I don’t know the people who worked on my car, but everything looks great, and I’m sure they don’t get enough recognition. A million thank yous!!! Jenn, the 1st point of contact, was absolutely lovely, SO extremely helpful, and make the process so extremely smooth. She bent over backwards to make sure I got my car before the weekend. Thank you to the entire team for everything! Give every single of them a raise.

I don’t know who answers the phone and is in charge of scheduling but she was extremely unprofessional and rude. I would never bring my vehicle here and it’s a shame it’s a state farm recommended auto body shop.

My experience at carstar was not fantastic but it was not awful either. I did the drop off in Cayce and the employee there, Jenn, is phenomenal at customer service. My car went in the shop on 09/20 and was there until 11/02 or 11/03. That is six weeks. It was not too big of a deal since I had a rental car but if you need to get your car back promptly and if carstar has to order parts that are on backorder, then maybe your repair would take a long time. While my car was in the shop, at first there was not much communication but when I let them know I’d like more updates Dominique provided information very often and was a great communicator. When I picked my car up, I saw some scratches and tape stains that were not there before. Jenn kindly provided the manager contact information for me to work with them and get this all sorted out. Chris the manager promptly got in touch and I made the trip from Columbia to Lexington for him to assess the situation/new damage. He made a plan to fix it, but long story short, in the end I had to make four round trips to Lexington to get everything fixed. One trip from Columbia and back is one hour, so I wasted four hours of my life driving back and forth until everything got sorted out. Also a part had to be ordered and that took a few weeks. In total, since drop off and until the new issues were fully fixed, it took two months. Overall, aside from all the hassle and wasted time, I found the employees really responsive and respectful to me. It was just unfortunate that we had bumps in the road, maybe I just had bad luck, but in the end everything ended up being fine.

I had some branches fall and mess up my Jeep Patriot pretty bad. Took it in for an estimate and was told drop it off on 10/3 and it should take up to 3 weeks to repair. Jenn was awesome, very friendly and helpful! She kept in touch with me via text throughout the process. However that’s where the great experience ended… the date for my car to be ready kept getting pushed back. I get parts were on back order, unfortunately that’s a big issue right now. However, my parts finally arrived on 10/25. I got a text on 11/8 that said hey we’re starting the body work now! I asked if the vehicle would still be ready by 11/11 as promised multiple times, and clarified they had promised to detail it due to rain damage. There was some back and forth then I was told yes it should be. The day before pickup I was told they were still waiting on some small moldings that are on backorder until 11/14, but I could get the car then bring it back for those. Well 11/11 comes, and my car is ready. Sort of. They decided to skip the detailing process “because I said I needed it back.” Fine. I’ll clean it myself. After I got it home, two weeks later I’m STILL finding shards of glass in random places. The windshield and replaced sunroof are covered in streaks and handprints. There’s sticky residue on the frame around the inside of the sunroof from where I taped it to avoid more water damage. The major body work was redone nicely. However there are two dents that I know Jenn photographed at drop off (I saw her do it) that we’re not repaired. And it’s 11/27 and I haven’t heard a single word about the moldings I never received. They were busy but saw my car anyway. One week later they have the car apart and have ordered the parts. So far they've done what they said they would do when they said they would do it. Can't do much better than that!
