Pet sense as a business is basically a dog food warehouse. They do sell a small assortment of fish and basic reptiles. The staff there has been great. Lisa is the one who holds the place together. I have always felt that none of the big chain pet stores should be bet sell live animals. When it comes to the reptiles the complete unit that houses the animals is completely wrong. There are animals that are from different biomes and they require specific environmental factors that can not be achieved. Like they put Ball Pythons on aspen bedding. Aspen bedding absorbs the air born humidity which Ball Pythons require. The lighting and heating are not adequate. The problem is that some of the employees know this and unfortunately their hands are tied, as corporate has established guidelines that the employees must follow when setting the enclosures up. It is basically the same with their fish enclosure. The setup that most big box chain stores use for the fish is one central filtering and heating unit. Again, different fish need different environments. A very serious problem with the central filter unit is if one fish, in one tank gets a disease, all of the fish are subject to possibly getting the disease. A central unit is cheaper and easier to maintain than separate filters for each tank. Petsense has now started carrying feeder crickets pre packaged in a box.. box of crickets…. These crickets commonly have up to 10 percent being dead when purchased. Again, it’s cheaper than having a tub full of crickets that need care. I feel for the employees there. I have shopped there for dog and other animal items and enjoy the atmosphere. Lisa does her best to make sure the place runs the best she can. I feel the same about Petsmart (don’t buy any live animals from there) , Pet lovers Warehouse and Petsense. If the business would hire individuals that have a clue and let the employees do it the right way, that would help tremendously. There are other specialty businesses to buy reptiles, fish and small animals from that are not just a dog food warehouse. Shout out to Lisa and the other employees for holding it together during a rough time.

I was glad to find quality food for my pets after transferring here. I am glad they support pet adoption. The staff is great. Unfortunately they do sell small animals and fish which I do not support. Animals are not commodities and should never be confined to small cages, whether lizards, rabbits etc. I was disturbed on my last visit to see rows of Betta fish in tiny containers cringing in the bright lights with no cover. I know from experience that if you take that fish and put it in a decent aquarium with rocks and plants and hideaways it will blossom into a vibrant and gorgeous creature. I wanted to buy them all but that would only support the problem. i hope PetSense management will reconsider selling any living creature. Until then I will no longer be a patron.

My dog has been to several groomers but I have never had one to screw up her cut the way this place did. They should of charged me half price cause she only got half cut. They didn't even touch her head or ears. What's worse is the girl asked me to bring a photo of how I wanted her cut so I gave her 2. She always gets a poodle cut. They trimmed her nose like one but never touched her head or ears. This is crazy.
