The owner seems like a narcissist and belittled me about any price I offered. They try to rip you off and the guy who runs it is just in it for himself. DO YOUR SELF A FAVOR AND NEVER GO HEAR.
They’ll offer you 1/4 oh what other pawn shops offer and seem very shady. If I could give 0 stars I would
Terrible business, terrible customer service ave terrible trust with the customer. Worst place I’ve ever stepped foot in.

I am not a Pawn Shop Shopper , usually I am at Kay Jewelry or Zales , but after seeing what my wife picked out and for the prices , I am changing! I bought my wife a beautiful necklace and ear rings from Kay’s for Christmas this year . She politely thanked me , and then returned them ! She then made a visit to Top Dollar . She loves what she has picked from there . I have to say she got a lot more for the money . I highly recommend this shop, because we all know “happy wife is a Happy Life”.

BUYERS BE AWEAR These are rude business owners Especially the younger guy so rude and condescending I've brought 2 men's gold rings from them one was 500 and some change one was 700 plus ,so the community can put money in their pawn shop but soon as u go to pawn something because your in a jam they will low ball the heck outta u. Ps. Don't be a person of color I don't think you wouldnt get the time of day as I've seen when they handle people of color! THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES

Top dollar should be named bottom dollar. They'll never change. They will give you less than gold value and act like they're doing you a favor.Rip offs.

Very dishonest. One day I brought in my MicroKorg synth (which sells for over $300 used) and they offered me $40, claiming they would resell it for under $100. 3 weeks later I returned to same person same store and he offered me $100 cash this time, lol... then he took the offer off the table. The response you provided to this review is FAR from accurate. Not only is the Korg keyboard in perfect working condition, it has only been used 2 or 3 times... before he even checked out the synth, we discussed that the synth runs on batteries and I did not have a power cable for it, so your timeline on how that was addressed is incorrect. There was a _spot_ of rust where the batteries go in, which absolutely had not, does not and will not effect the performance of the item. Also, a standard 12v plug will provide power if you didn't want to use batteries... this employee has been rude and dishonest with me from the start, and even told me that he refused to make me a decent offer because he doesn't like me. He tried to offer me $40 for a $470 professional stage keyboard/synth only because I told him I had fallen on tough times and I really needed the money. What kind of person purposely lowballs you because you're vulnerable? It's really unfortunate that you guys are the only pawn shop in HHI and Bluffton because I will not be bringing my business to you guys again. I was willing to take 100 for an item that regularly sells for over 300 used and THAT IN ITSELF is highway robbery, let alone the insulting offer of 40 a few weeks ago... maybe if your employees practiced good business ethics you would have better luck. I truly feel sorry for anyone who goes into your shop expecting to get "top dollar" for ANYTHING.

Had a 38 smith snubby and the owner took 20 minutes to find out exactly what year it was made and the value all while knowing I had no intention of selling or pawning. Very good experience

Buyer Beware. On December 23, 2020, my wife and I purchased a diamond ring from the owners other pawnshop in Hilton Head. The ring was purchased for $1,391.00. The very next day two side baguettes diamonds fell out of the ring. We called them immediately and left a message- unfortunately it was Christmas Eve when the stones fell off so we were unable to reach them for a few days. We finally reached a woman there named Dawn on Dec 28th. We asked to speak to the owner and her response was "I have been here for 30 years and I am the best you are going to get". That was the first indication things were not looking good for us. She told us we could take our ring to a jeweler and see what they say. We decided to take our ring to one of our reputable jewelers here in Charleston as we do not live in Hilton Head. Our Jeweler did an examination on the ring and informed us that the ring was sold as damaged which is the reason the stones fell out. They provided us a breakdown of the issues - the shank was cracked and the channel wall holding the baguettes near the center stone was completely worn. They also stated the ring looked like it was previously worked on by another jeweler who did not know what they were doing. Previous jeweler used a graver tool to tighten the stones instead of building the wall up with more gold and didn't repair the shank which is the reason the stones fell out. The jeweler stated that any reputable place of business that sells jewelry would have known this ring was damaged. Our Jeweler quoted us a price of $494.30 to get it fixed. Given my wife likes the ring and the fact that we don't live in Hilton Head, we decided to get it fixed and try to get some money back for the repairs. We thought it would be fair if Top Dollar Pawn would reimburse just $250.00. We emailed the owner all pictures and write-up from our Jeweler. The owner called us back and was extremely rude and defensive from the start. I could barely get a word in. He said we could mail the ring back to him but he would not work with us at ALL on coming to a compromise. As a business man myself, I could not understand why an owner would be unwilling to come to an agreement given the condition of the ring and the fact we live out of town. I also would not want to mail a $1,400 ring back to a pawnshop without having any assurance I would receive all my money back. I said to Mr. Clark $250.00 is reasonable given there are two diamond baguettes that have to be replaced and the shank has to be repaired. He responded that his jeweler could fix it for $100.00. He also responded with "I should go to a Jewelry store next time I buy something". This is not something you would expect a reputable business man to say that stands behind his jewelry. Unfortunately Mr. Clark would not work with us. After I spoke with the owner, I called my jeweler and they said there is no possible way it would cost $100 to fix it correctly and with new baguettes and would be willing to speak to the owner if necessary. Given the demeanor of Mr. Clark on the phone, I highly doubt he would be willing to speak to anyone. All of this gives me concern on Top Dollar Pawn's moral principles when selling merchandise and dealing with customers on a legitimate claim. Unfortunately this is what gives Pawnshops a bad name. I have been dealing with Nathan's Pawnshop in VB for over 25 years and have never had a problem. A business should stand behind their product. If they are selling something that is in poor condition or damaged, it should be stated up front before the customer buys it. We have elevated this issue to the Better Business Bureau. Please be careful when dealing with this pawn shop.
