I had messed around with box hair dye and ended up turning my hair an awful shade of orange! I had just moved here and I needed it fixed BAD! I called Joy and she was able to fit me in the next day! She was able to fix my orange hair better than I could have ever expected! She got it to look EXACTLY how I wanted it at a great price!!! I will be going to her for every appointment from now on!

Joy is a true JOY to have working on your hair! She has an upbeat personality and takes real pride in her work. She dyed, cut, and styled my hair yesterday and it looks fantastic! The highlights she added were placed perfectly. It's been a long time since my hair looked this pretty.
Chatting in her shop made me feel as though I had just made a new friend. I am already looking forward to returning to her!

Joy is just a pleasure and was very attentive to my friend who wasn't exactly sure how she wanted her highlights to look. She talked her through several different colors and styles until they agreed on a perfect fit! She's just a "joy" (I just couldn't resist!)

I am visiting from Orange County, CA to meet up with my family from New England. I made an appointment with Joy and Dennis at Style It Salon for two blow outs and make-up for my niece and myself. I scheduled a photo shoot with a local photographer so that we could get a new family photo and wanted to get a bit fancied up. My niece is18 years old but is on the autism spectrum and sometimes rocks, paces and self soothes herself. My niece doesn't like to comb her hair or get it washed much so she came into the salon looking like she recently went through a wind storm! Joy and Dennis were absolutely amazing with her. They both made this anxious young adult feel comfortable and transformed her into a beauty. Joy's make-up techniques are timeless and not over the top which I wanted. Dennis was a pro in doing our blow outs and we both looked so polished. I have extensions in my hair and Dennis knew exactly how to navigate them with expertise. I loved Joy and Dennis's personalities as they were warm and welcoming. I would absolutely recommend this hair salon to others and will return when I visit Bluffton. I'll add a photo to the review when we get our photos back from our photo shoot.

I’ve been going to Joy for my hair since I moved to the low country in 2012. Every time I walk out of her salon, I’m 10 years younger-looking! Joy continues to work her magic. Fixed my roots today and gave me beautiful highlights. I still love it♥️

I am snowbirding in this community and really needed a haircut. I requested an appointment via Google and the response was quick AND they were able to fit me in for a haircut with Dennis that very afternoon.Dennis took his time to carefully cut my very fine hair and gave me a great bob that will work for however I want to style it. Feels great and looks great! I'm so happy with my cut.

I don’t usually do reviews, but feel it might be helpful to do so. I received highlights recently for my birthday, and in the salon I had initially thought it was not enough blonde, but I know that there was not much blonde put in in attempt to keep my hair healthy (per my request); so I did not complain. However, when I got home I realized my hair was not fully dry because there was still product stuck in it. When I washed the product out with water and let it dry, I noticed it the color was very uneven and not toned right. I’m not one to cause issues so I went out and fixed it myself so I wouldn’t inconvenience the salon. However, it was a lot of money for me to have to go out and fix it myself, so I thought I would share my experience. I’m sharing photos of before I fixed it and after.Service: Hair coloring

On a whim, I called and booked an appointment with Joy. Firstly, she’s delightful, easy to talk to, honest, a visionary. Not only does she listen to what you say, she listens to what you don’t say…. Tiny salon, great vibe, loved Joy instantly. Most importantly, my friends say “hey, your hair looks great”. The cut is perfect!! And she understood my desire for more texture. Joy is a color expert. She asks questions and listens to what you want and then she achieves your goals for your hair. She asks for pictures of what you want so she can be sure of proper communication. I am a difficult patron when it comes to my hair but she always displays kindness and patience.
