I’ll tell you what South state bank is by far the worst bank I have ever been to poor customer service and don’t even think of trying to call them by phone because it almost takes them an hour to answer a call and when they do answer they never call back.

I opened an account with South State Bank 3 months ago and have had nothing but grief since. This bank is by far the worst bank I have ever dealt with. If you are looking for good customer service, do not do business with this bank. It took over 2 hours to open an account in their Summerville branch. Then we moved to Beaufort and it was just as bad. We waited in the drive through for 10 minutes before being acknowledged because the teller was flirting with the customer at the drive through window next to us. Recently on a Sunday we drove to a branch ATM and it was broken. We then drove to another branch and that ATM was down as well. There were other issues I wont bore you with, but the kicker is that I drove there last Saturday at 10:00 am and lo and behold they were closed. No longer a South State Bank customer. Thank you.

Very poor service. If you own a small business and are in need of a solid growth oriented banking relationship, THIS IS NOT YOUR BANK. We are part of a 100 office franchise. Our growth has been steady as we are routinely the number one rated office in sales nationwide. However, this bank has repeatedly refused deposits, put undue 7 to 10 day holds on checks, and we work with companies like State Farm, Allstate, USAA, Nationwide and most if not all of the biggies. To your Asst. VP, Retail Operations and your Asst Branch Manager, it's just business and truly isn't personal but within the next week or so, you are fired. BTW, Google Reviews will not allow anything less than a 1 star review to post this message. So let me type....YOUR BANK GETS A ONE-HALF STAR.

Worst location ever! Had a terribly rude bank teller last year and never wamted to have too use this location. Again. would give negative stars if I could. Have used this location more recently do to a recent move and all tellers are very short. And come off rude!! Expect 5 -10 minutes minimum of just waiting ,if using drive-thru!! This location need service improvement!
