Such an amazing place with a lot of the spirit of the original Mendel intact. (though I still miss the Mendel of the past)
Incredible that they purchased one of the exhibits from Woodrow! Love being able to see something I haven't seen since 2007!
I made a donation before leaving. You should too.
Will definitely be coming back.

My visit to Remai Modern was an incredible experience! This art gallery is a true gem in Saskatoon, offering a thoughtfully curated collection of contemporary art that is both inspiring and engaging. The architecture of the building itself is stunning, with large windows that offer beautiful views of the river, complementing the art inside.
The exhibitions were diverse and well-presented, featuring both local and international artists. I particularly enjoyed the interactive installations, which added a unique dimension to the experience. The gallery’s layout makes it easy to explore at your own pace, and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, adding to the overall positive experience.
For travelers planning a visit, here are a few tips: Allocate a few hours to fully enjoy the exhibits and take your time in the gallery spaces. If possible, visit during the weekday mornings for a quieter experience, as it can get busier later in the day and on weekends. The on-site restaurant offers great views and is a perfect spot for a coffee or lunch break during your visit. Also, don’t forget to check out the gift shop, which has a wonderful selection of art books, prints, and unique souvenirs.

The Hearth Restaurant in the Remai Modern is a great place to eat! They have the best hash browns l have ever eaten. Service was fast, friendly and accommodating! They were able to provide gluten-free meal for my daughter and asked us if there were any other dietary restrictions before placing our order. I highly recommend eating here...you won't be disappointed!

The only really nice things were the paintings. Everything else was just questionable to say the least. And by questionable I mean I didn't know what the heck they were there for. We didn't even know what they were half the time . The Van Gogh's we're beautiful

I can't say much about the art gallery as I was there after hours for a university reunion, and the building was all locked down. The function was catered by the gallery. I found the salads flavourless, the pork EXTREMELY fatty, and the chicken undercooked. The bread was good, and the desserts had good flavour; if you like coffee (I don't). At the bar everything from a short highball to a glass of wine was 8 dollars. All of the mix came from cans, and even pop was still 3 dollars for about 75% of a can. Between the tall trees on the riverbank (which are very nice in their own right), and the metal plate mounted to the outside of the building, there was VERY little of any views apart from traffic on the Sid Buckwold bridge. The gallery was all locked down during the function, unlike the Western Development Museum, so I can't comment on the displays. I do plan to go to the gallery some time when the displays are open. From what I saw, I wouldn't hold a function there, though.

My visit to Remai Modern was captivating. The museum features a diverse and thought-provoking collection of contemporary art, set in a strikingly modern architectural space. The exhibits are well-curated and engaging, offering a rich cultural experience. Overall, it’s a must-visit for art enthusiasts and anyone looking to explore innovative art in a dynamic setting.

Remai was a great centre to hold the candlelight event. Felt personal. This was my second time going to one of the candle events and I will definitely be going to more!

It's very lackluster to be honest. I had my son with me he is 4 he loves art and all things creative and was hoping there would be a lot more art but what was there wasn't very captivating.
Would be great if there was an area where children could explore art and be a bit more interactive with it. I completely understand it's by donations now so they maybe don't have the funds to do something more interactive but it may help get more people to visit and in turn get more donations.

I was taken to a faraway and serene place while listening to the quartet in the candlelight. Amazing!!!
