This tour was so amazing! Our tour guide had wonderful energy and was incredibly knowledgeable. I learned so much about the city I have lived in for over 10 years and gained so much appreciation for our river and trail system and the importance of protecting this urban park. Would highly recommend this tour to any visitor and is MUST DO for any resident in Saskatoon!

The Grazing Dinner was one of the best experiences I have had in a long time. I found the tour to be impactful and inspirational. Extremely enthusiastic and knowledgableable staff. It was very obvious the Meewasin team have a true passion for education and conservation. Well done! THANK YOU!!!

I didn’t know what to expect other than seeing a sheep herding demonstration and having a meal. I was definitely not prepared for the amazing experience that occurred. From the small hike through native prairie to see the sheep in action and back to the interpretive center for dinner the amount of information I absorbed from listening to the Meewasin staff was absolutely incredible. The passion that they have for not only the Meewasin Valley, but also their fields of expertise and the environment in general truly is phenomenal. Never in a million years would I think that I’d end up laying flat on my stomach in the middle of native prairie grassland and absolutely enjoying every minute of it. The dinner that followed was a palate pleasing delight and the chef took into consideration everyone’s dietary needs and made sure they were well looked after. I 100% recommend the Grazing Dinner as it will be an experience you’ll never forget

I can’t say enough great things about the work that the Meewasin Valley Authority continues to do in helping not only conserve but assisting in having more and more people explore the river and valley that we have in and just outside of Saskatoon! I attended a “Naughty by Nature” after hours event that was so fun and so different but educational at the same time!! The moderators were excellent and hilarious and the food and drink was delicious too!! 5 stars plus for sure!

An absolute gem of an organization. The Meewasin Valley is easily one of Saskatoon's greatest attractions.

I’ve been going out to beaver creek conservation area for years - decades even - and it continue to be one of my favourite places to view wildlife and flowers. There are a few trails to choose from, so we can wander through a little forest or native prairie, and soak up the sun or shelter from it. We happened to be there during a sheep grazing demonstration and learned so much about shepherding and alternative ways to manage invasive plants. We’ve seen the amazing impact a prescribed fire can have, and learned about its intense process, and the importance of protecting native plants during Meewasin’s Wildflower Walk. I would rate their events 5/5 in ADDITION to the peaceful atmosphere of simple being out at BCCA, so if you like learning through experiences, I recommend planning a visit when they’re hosting a fun event like the walk or others like naughty by nature - next on my list - or grazing dinners or dark skies…I forgot to mention I went to a bat themed dark skies event - it was sooo neat to see and *hear* different bats around the creek, unique and unforgettable!! There are just so many ways to fall in love with BCCA and the prairies even more. Thank you Kelton, Sam, Jared, Renny, and Owen - your knowledge and passion made it easy to remember countless fun facts to appreciate my visits to Meewasin’s conservation areas more, and better understand the landscape I’ve called home my whole life.

We were lucky enough to get tickets for last weekend’s Birding Breakfast at Beaver Creek. I was blown away by the knowledge of our guide and it was truly magical to see so many birds up close. We were able to see a tree swallow from a nest box and see how the Meewasin team checks their band numbers. Insanely valuable experience, can’t wait to attend more of their events in the future.

Meewasin Birding Breakfast. We were greeted by pouring rain, a delicious cup of coffee and warm, friendly smiles. Jaime and Sam adapted to the weather, and hosted us inside for more of the tour, with a get to know you and so many interesting bird facts. We then headed outside with an earpiece so we could hear Jaime's comment under our hoods, wind and pouring rain and we did get to see and hear a few birds. Considering the weather it was a fun, interesting event. I look forward to a nonrainy day at Beaver Creek. Oh, the breakfast picnic box was so well put together and delicious!

What a great Father’s Day Birding Breakfast at Beaver Creek. Although there was enough rain for it, we didn’t see Noah and his ark, but still managed to have a wonderful (wet) walk, hearing and seeing a surprising number of birds (who obviously missed the draft for the ark). It wasn’t just hugely informative, but it was such a privilege to be hosted by a team of incredibly enthusiastic people! Thank you Meewasin and Beaver Creek! We’ll see each other again soon…and I’m bringing the riff-raff along next time ?

We had so much fun at Meewasin's Birding Breakfast this past weekend at Beaver Creek Conservation Area. Sam did a wonderful job of telling us Meewasin's story and Jamie knows EVERYTHING about birds! Despite the rain, we were able to see some beautiful Purple Martins and hear plenty of other birds during our hike on the Yellow Train. Plus, we all enjoyed a delicious breakfast charcuterie box at the end of our hike! The Meewasin team does a spectacular job of protecting our river valley and educating the the public about its importance. For any birder in our community who wants to expand their knowledge, you should really spend some time with Jamie out at Beaver Creek. She knows so much!

Overall, "Dark Skies at the Creek" was a truly stellar experience. I left feeling inspired and awestruck by the beauty of the night sky, and I can't wait to attend future events hosted by Meewasin. If you're looking for a memorable and educational night out, I highly recommend marking your calendar for their next event. You won't be disappointed! We visited during a 100% cloud coverage but still managed to capture the beauty of the sky from the creek!

The sip and skate was such a great evening. It’s nice to have more space on the rink and it was so cozy to have drinks and snacks by the fire. Thanks!
