This vet and staff is amazing! Buckle up because I'm about to rave! I have 2 cats and a dog. One of my cats has asthma, so she's in there every 6 weeks for a shot to help her breathing. It's a quick in and out done by the tech staff. They are wonderful. Special shoutout to Dennis who is a cat whisperer. My sweet Bella is a nervous girl, he always takes the time to talk to her, hold her extra after her shot and give her treats. He really is so gentle with her and you can see he was made for this job! Now onto the front desk receptionist Vikki. I must call her like 40 times a year. Between emergency visits, having to reschedule things, having a cat with asthma and my crazy dog, Vikki knows my voice when I ring. She is not only extremely friendly. She goes above and beyond. My cat has an eye sore and unfortunately my husband and I both work way more than a standard 40 hour work week. The appointments she offered us we aren't able to make today. She went above and beyond all expectations. She showed a picture of the sore to the vet, and showed him. She called me back informing me the vet would send over an antibiotic and if in a few days his would doesn't improve to call her back. How amazing is that?! Seriously quality care! How about Dr. Dan sending a RX because we're so busy! I was panicking about to take Rocco to an Emergency Room if needed although it doesn't seem like a life or death situation. It just is in a bad spot. Big River Vet to save the day! Can't rave enough about them. It makes my heart so happy to take my animals to a place where the staff genuinely loves them.

Dr Dan was phenomenal, as was his staff. My nervous pup felt at ease with everyone because they took their time. He had a major surgery on his knee and it healed perfectly. I would recommend them to anyone- they are the best and most reasonable in cost too!

My pup Valak destroyed his knee. At 3 years old and extremely athletic I went for a consult at Big River. It was clearly explained which method would be the best fit and why by Dr Cardosa. A TPLO surgery was done and went very well. My pup is a shy guy yet at each visit he LOVED the staff because they met him where he was at. Now at 9 weeks post op I couldn't be happier! A big thank you to the entire team.

Dr. Cardozo and his team are the best. My dog went through TPLO surgery and I couldn't recommend them enough. Affordable compared to other vets for this particular surgery. My dog is back to her self and happy. Lola and I thank you!!

I came home yesterday and found my poor dog. Gnawing at his right leg again. So I called big river and asked them what they could give me to help him with this pain other than the medication. They already gave me, because they can't give him surgery until the 4th of October. And I got a very unconcerned receptionist. And she told me the veterinarian said to call my primary care Vet because they were closing at 4 o'clock and was going on a week's vacations, obviously I got upset because they already have all his information on file. So why did I need to call them? I guess they didn't like That response but I called my primary care anyway. So while I was waiting for the primary vet to call back. Big River called me to tell me that the Dr was no longer interested in doing my be loved pets surgery. WHAT KIND OF VETERINARIAN DR. WOULD LET A ANIMAL SUFFER BECAUSE HE DOESN'T LIKE MY ATTITUDE BECAUSE I QUESTIONED HIS INTAGERITY AND PROFESSIONALISM.

Had an Amazing experience with Dr Cardosa and his staff. He did TPLO surgery as well as fixed her torn meniscus on my 9 year old dog. From start to finish he was very professional and gave me a wealth of knowledge of everything that was involved in the surgery and recovery. We will likely need to have her opposite knee done in the future as we already know it has some inflammation and I will 100% be returning to Big River Vet to Dr Cardosa and his staff.

Our dog Ares had suddenly lost the use of his back legs and after countless visits to other vets and emergency services with no ability to diagnose, Big River immediately welcomed us in and within minutes knew exactly what was wrong! Not only that, but they checked in with us to see how he was doing on medication, and recommended we not go through the very expensive and risky procedures we thought we’d need due to his progress! With their help, our dog was able to heal fully and quickly, and is a healthy boy. They’re warm, welcoming, and so friendly. I’d never trust my babies with anyone else or go anywhere else! Well worth the drive from Johnston for me!

I literally just took my dog Sky who is an American Staffordshire Terrier here for a surgical consult. Fortunately, surgery is unnecessary. However, each and everyone on staff in this facility was incredible. I cannot say enough good things about this facility as a whole, the procedure, my dog had to undergo, was very uncomfortable to say the least and she struggled so they easily could have charged me to sedate her to perform it & they did not, that alone, shows the honesty, and integrity they maintain. Considering I had an incident a year back with another facility that wanted to perform a surgery on her leg without even taking x-rays to the point they gave me the surgical appointment not a consult appointment and actual surgical appointment. Needless to say two days later after pain meds she was fine so they intentionally misled me so It is nice to know I now have a facility I can trust God forbid one of my dogs ever need a surgical procedure in the future. Thank you all again for your compassion and professionalism it is appreciated.

Watch your Bill! Promise to honor a coupon then one month later the charge shows up on my second dogs visit. Refused to credit back the credit card when asked and no email to verify the credit back on the card as requested.

I am reviewing this without eating but 2 of us enjoyed a drink while we could feel the coziness of a neighborhood place. We entered & picked a table. We ordered a glass of wine & a beer. The bartender, Jay was very friendly & even though he knew this was our first visit, he treated us like we were regulars. A waitress even came over to see if we needed a drink. We told her Jay took care of us. We would like to return & try the food in the future.
