I'm SO grateful to have found an amazing coaching community at What is Movement, 12 min from Providence. Highly knowledgable and informed coaching that's helping people recover from chronic pain as well as build strength, endurance, and mobility!!

In all of my years joining wellness and athletic clubs I have never enjoyed myself more or improved my mind, body and general health as I have in the past few years at What is Movement. Jamie Enrique is not only an incredible coach, but a mentor, a student of physiology and an amazing trainer. I'm currently 72 years old and each time I arrive at the gym I'm welcomed by all regardless of my age and conditioning. The atmosphere is genuine and warm but business like as we all strive to improve every aspect of our fitness program. I would encourage the reader to have a meaningful conversation with Jamie if you're interested in making a new journey and become a new you in the coming year!

Old School meets New School! Jamie's training had me lifting more than when I was a kid! You will not only learn the proper forms and techniques from Jamie, but you will undoubtedly have fun while you're doing it. The atmosphere at the gym is very welcoming and you won't get bored with the same old workouts. You'll be pushed here, but that's the point. Also, as Jamie is a Veteran, he's always looking for more Vets to come workout and socialize with the small group that's there now. Do yourself a favor and stop by for a free intro class....you'll be glad you did!

How does one explain such a Great gym? I have been going to What is Movement for two years. I truly enjoying my works.... Jamie, owner and coach, never gives you the same work out. Always encouraging and supportive. His education combined with his experience and enthusiasm makes for the best work outs. He goes out of his way to ensure you stay the course. My training is are not easy. The gym offers classes or private training with kettle bells, VIPr, weight lifting as well as nutrition consultations. Very clean gym, always professional with a “ Pura Vida†spirit. So worth checking it out!

As a 20 year practitioner and international teacher of yoga-- I have never felt so strong and as embodied as I do now after training with Jamie at What is Movement since July 2018. This gym is a safe space. The education and body awareness that I have gained is invaluable. I feel strong and connected to my body in a new and awesome way. I look forward to every opportunity that I have to get to the gym! I feel completely supported by the community here and trust Jamie completely. His knowledge of the body and how it moves is profound and his spirit and the joy he gets from seeing someone grow is a beautiful and motivating force.

What is Movement is an amazing place to train! Jaime Enriquez is a very positive and knowledgeable trainer who strives to make EVERY person feel welcome and capable. His understanding of anatomy and how the body functions is incredible and he can pinpoint exercises to help each person based on their unique strengths and areas of need. The classes are "group exercise" classes, but it feels like personal training! As someone in the fitness industry myself (yoga teacher), and as a person who has tried other cross-training options, this is BY FAR, the best place I have trained at. In the three months that I have been working out here, I have seen great results. Give this place a try; your first class is FREE. You will not be disappointed!!

Jamie and his coaching enabled me to rediscover the athlete I thought was gone after being injured. His style of training restored my confidence in what my body was capable of achieving. Jamie leads by example. The safe, welcoming community that flourishes at What is Movement is due in no small part to the tone he and his clientele set.

If your an elite athlete...you will like this gym....but if your a guy like me...who needs to move correctly in order to physically function properly in life...then “What is Movemt” is a life saver. Some of the folks here were doing some amazing things with the kettle bells....me? It took me several weeks just to learn the basics of the “Turkish Get Up”...and how was Jamie and my class mates during that process? Patient, understanding, supportive and fun to be around. Ask anyone here....it’s not just a gym....it’s an important part of their life!

I've always been active and have held a gym membership for many years, working out 5-7 days per week. Now at 73 years old and having been with Jamie for several years, 5 days per week, I realize how his coaching has brought about a positive transformation in me in terms of strength, flexibility, stamina, posture and over-all well being!

I have been working out for all of my adult life and have had very mixed results. I did more damage to my body by not lifting weights the correct way. Jaime takes the time to show the safest way to lift heavy weights and showed me how to use the largest muscles in my body to do it. Not only have I gotten stronger overall, I have not once hurt my back doing it! I was never able to do squats or dead lifts before. Jamie is a great instructor and dedicated to making sure that your goals will be reached. I was able to stretch and move so much better than I ever have after only 2 sessions!

Whether you want one on one training or want to take a group fitness class, this is the place to go. Jamie's passion and dedication to his profession and his clients is apparent when you come here. Between cardio, kettle bells, VIPr, weight lifting and other exercises, there is something for everyone.
